Hmmm...Not familiar with Belinda, but now I'm going to have to check her out. Great question...I'm curious to see what people have to say. I have only listened to a few of Karen Phelp's calls but I liked what I heard.

They are both great trainers and offer a different style and some different content. I attended Karen's Direct Sales Boot Camp in Vegas last year and it was great to meet her in person.
I am currently listening to Belinda Ellsworth and she offers some unique ideas on working with your team; weekly check in, and some scripting that has a nice flow in introducing the opportunity while at a party, and doing the first party for your new consultant!
Depends kind of on what you are looking for!
Expect Success!

They both live here in Michigan and I have seen both of them in person, heard their recordings and been on calls and I have to agree with Jackie in that they bring totally different styles "to the table."
Belinda is very high energy where Karen is more mellow in her delivery. Both are chock full of information, it's all just a matter of preferred presentation style.

I know I have some trainings from both, not sure that I have listened to Karen's though.
That being said, I have to be in the right mood for Belinda as I find her very loud. She is good, but sometimes I just can't handle that.

Both are really great. I have seen both live and listened to both on calls and cd's .
Karen really has some wonderful ideas and active things to do to get more bookings, make your parties have fun and I love her leadership training too. When I saw her last year I really thought she blew us away at our regional with awesome info. I even won some coaching with her. Very motivating
Belinda is awesome too she has many great things to help get consultants started , keep the motivation going our company hired her for weekly new consultant training calls along with supervisor training calls which was so full of value to me. I also have been on Belinda's success express which is a great tool too.
You can not go wrong they are both wonderful

Julie Anne Jones is another great sales trainer. I have contracted her to do company specific training for my team on Designing an Amazing Party Experience as well as Host Coaching for Success.
The classes and training is great and the feedback from everyone has been amazing.
It has helped people see the party experience in a whole different way, adding value! And, we are focused on recruiting through parties so that builds immediate cash as well as the long term residual!
All of these trainers are great and I learn something new from each one, and can then take it and "make it my own!"
Expect Success!

I like both but I prefer Karen Phelps- I seem to use her trainings more. But I really think it is your personal preference.

(Hiya Tazsa!) (((hugs)))
My opinion:
For booking, selling, recruiting: Karen
To get your brain wrapped around creating incredible team volume: Belinda.
To work with your team: Karen
To keep your head screwed on properly: Karen.
I always take heat for saying this, but I'm going to anyway: Belinda's training is 90% (or more) Park Lane training. I was using "her" stuff before she was ever in Direct Sales... when I was a Park Lane manager back in the late 70s. Maybe that is why I like Karen's perspectives a little better, overall. :)
I also attended Karen Phelp's Leadership Bootcamp in October - it was a great weekend. Her materials from that weekend should be available to everyone now - I got my copy about 2 weeks ago.
If you're going to want to really create team volume, I suggest you take in all of the materials you can... and it's also good to belong to Karen's Gold Plus group... it's about $50 a month to belong. Well worth it.
Wishing you success,

I agree that both are excellent trainers and speakers. It really depends on your style and what are you are looking for. I have both of their books/cd's and I listen to them at different times depending on my moods and what I am searching for.
It is nice to have a change every once in a while...I am excited that I am planning on attending one of Belinda's seminars in a few weeks. I haven't heard her in a while, so it will be great to be refreshed and reminded.

Sally, your wrote - "Belinda's training is 90% (or more) Park Lane training. I was using "her" stuff before she was ever in Direct Sales"
What do you mean exactly? IS that bad training or is there something about it that is missing? I have her "How to Build a Million Dollar Business" or something like that, ha, and have found some new/different nuggets in there that I have enjoyed.
Thanks!

Hi....
Sorry... I was out of town (conference in Vegas) last weekend so I'm just now finding a little time to cruise through here. Just catching your message now, Jackie. :)
I meant nothing negative about it... I guess I should have clarified to say that I don't personally appreciate Belinda's material as much as Karen's - because, again, I was working with it before Belinda ever did.
That said, there is good in both of them. However, I personally think there is more bare bones good info that would help most women within Karen's materials - especially on the booking & hostess coaching fronts.

Thanks Sally, although I didn't think you meant anything bad, just wondered if something was missing from the training. I'm going to hear Belinda live on the 22nd of February so I'll report back after hearing Karen in Vegas last October.
I re-read your summary of who is good for what and I think you are very accurate!
Hey, is Jafra based in Thousand Oaks, California or do they just have a facility there? I was driving on the 101 to Ventura yesterday and saw the building for the first time, duh!!
Thanks!
Expect Success!
