Hello, I am "newer" but have been reading your extreme wealth of info for about 6 weeks. You have all taught me SO much. Thanks. This is my first post.

I have an appt with the owner of a small salon & also a stylist there who got me the appt. They are already fairly interested and once I show them the true bottom line & that its more to them than the inital 35% profit, I think I will begood to go. They are already fairly sold on the products, its more of a money thing now. I have done lots of research and feel very prepared. I have just3 things I am still unsure of.

1. If they say yes, who do I sign up? The owner? All of them? I am sure they have a way to figure out who gets credit for what with their other product lines but I am just not really sure how to present this. I know in the end its their decision, but would like to seem very knowledgable and present scenarios on what works for others. If they all sign up (just 3 of them), who do I put on top/first? The owner I am guessing?

2. I know they are very interested in the make-up as they do a lot of people for weddings/parties/proms, etc. I am still unsure of what the deal is with the green compacts for the blush and shadows & whenthey are coming back- does anyone know? I was unable to get a straight answer on the phone as well. I don't like the idea of selling hard on those without knowing about that. I have asked above me and no one seems to know.

3. For those that have succeeded in similar prospects, what do you normally see as a good, decent start order (total amt in, not just RV). I am getting close to being DM and this is my last month to qualify in the start up deal, so would love for that to happen, but don't want to push either and loose them over expecting too big of an order. Again, its a smaller salon but those that are there are still round the clock busy.

Thanks so much for you input!

hey what i would do is sign up the owner and put the stylist direct to her i
am a stylist and we have it in my salon and i didnt knnow what i was doing
when i started so i just signed up everyone to me but i also am in charge of
the retail ordreing plus profit so it made since to me but in a regular case i
would put everyone under the owner bc they are doing the ordring plus
paying ect and they are head of the salon and if they see a little profit from
the others they might be motivated to keep it going and push it a liitle more
with the stylists thats my two cents and i am too just figuring out what to do
but as far as the package i would do the rsvp and show them how next
month they can order another one with the 1000 rv this is the best deal bc
we stylist are always used to getting 50% off and that way u can show them
how with the rsvp they will make 30-60% off then sell it at retail well let me
kow how it goes!! good luck

Who do you put the orders under that stock the shelves? You? Or the owner?Or do you stock & sell from the shelves? That's the part I am the most nervous about. I am thinking they already have this part figured out with their other lines but I just want to be sure.

Thanks!

well my owner just gave me the responsibility and i order pay out
commissions and take profit but thats a diff situation that she did just for
me i would think that the owner does all of that thats whatmost places do do
u know if they are a booth rental salon or if they are employees that would
change things and about stocking the shelves i would say stoack the shelves
bc i didnt at first and i will tell you from 1st hand exp its to hard to explain
to clients and for the staff to explain the wholesale buyer ect i think having
it as a opion to buy retail or wholesale if they want is the best way to go
bcyoull have people clients that want ti now especially the makeup i mean if
someone is going to buy a set then i would offer the wholsale bc its worth it
tothem but i know stylist and they get confused if its to hard to explain they
wont and then nothing gets done its different if you have a stylist that gets it
and can work the buisness other wise just stock and explain later

Just wanted to add a little about the salon. Sandra Tillinghast has a wonderful website with a wealth of info on salons. It is under consultants resources and the approved presentations. you can learn a lot from this and it has some letters to salons and owners. just fyi. Also, my rvp is a salon owner and she uses the demo kits and suggests starting with the 4 kits. She gives them to clients to take home a try and they make an appointment to bring it back and she does the follow up then. Sometimes in the salon or sometimes they meet elsewhere. She says the demo kits are what got her where she is, rvp in 10 months. Also, not everyone in her salon signed up, she let them decide if they wanted to and most are one under another. hth :)

Excellent site,thanks.

I had my appt. & it went well. I was able to explain the $ part, and how it will be similar to the 50% they are used to with the discounts that accumulate. Its up to the products now. They ordered quite a bit to try so we shall see. Its looking good though.

Hello,

I am very new to all of this. I have a two friends who work in Salons. I briefly talked to one of them and she expressed concern that she would have to carry only *rbonne products, in which case she was definitely not interested.

Do salons have to stock only *rbonne if they register?

Thank you for your help

No, they are welcome to carry other lines.
