Hi y'all I'm new here and looking at different businesses trying to decide which company if any at all that I want to get started in. I love candles so just thought I'd start here but want to get some other company information before deciding. I've done a couple of other home businesses before but they weren't for me.
Could anyone here send me something about their candle business as far as what you earn on sales? I'm real interested in hearing from someone who's an actual work at home mom not depending on fallback income from a spouse or partner. I'm a single mom and just got laid off and think I need to see this as a sign to do something for myself this time around.

Hi Melissa, there's a lot of great info. on all of the companies and I'm sure you've been looking through it all in your spare time between kid wrangling. Trust me, I know that's a full-time job in and of itself as I have a 3 & 5 year old.

The candle business is a great choice because you don't have to have any products on hand to make sales. Scent samples and a brochure are all you need whereas other companies the customers want to see the product before buying it which means you have to spend money to get a display going.

Soylicious offers 3 different startup options and all are affordably priced. For just $29.95 you can get a 20 oz. & 11 oz. Cascade candle, 4 oz. room spray, and 6 pack of wax tarts along with a website to sell and recruit from. The total retail for the products is $44.80 but if you just sell the 20 oz. candle, room spray, and wax tarts, you've still made a little profit, have a free 11 oz. to use for yourself (or sell to make more profit), and a free website!

The company and our team both offer training and materials to use to help build your business. We have training calls, online training courses, documents both on our forum and I have some I've made up myself. Being a mother with bills to pay myself, I am on a shoestring budget so I can help you build your business without all the excess.

Soylicious distributor supplies are inexpensive and they just recently added them to our main website. If you go to my site and click on the Consultant Corner, you will see all we have and keep in mind the price on the website is not what the distributor pays. We pay 60% of the price listed. They have it set up this way where we also earn residual income from distributor supplies as well.

As a distributor, you get 40% earnings on sales made both offline and online. You do not have to order multiple candles, you can order just one jar candle if that's all the customer wants. The company pays for the hostess gifts so if you do candle parties, the hostess gifts do not come out of your earnings! We do not have sales quotas or quotas for number of distributors or sales to earn residual income. All it takes is signing up for the Scent of the Month which is $29.95 and you have the option of choosing Option 1: 1 20 oz. & 11 oz. Cascade, 4 oz. room spray, & a 6 pack of wax tarts or Option 2: 1 Balsa Wood candle, 11 oz. Cascade candle, 4 oz. room spray, & 2-6 packs of wax tarts. Either option includes your website and an affiliate software tracking program. Some companies charge that much just for the website!

You can check out my website to see all the products offered, our comp. plan, request a scent sample pack, etc. I'm also sending you a PM with my phone number and if you want me to call you, PM me back with yours so we can talk and see if Soylicious is a good fit for you!

Please be sure that you do your research about whatever company you wish to join. There are a lot of unethical reps that will sing praises about their products when they know full well the quality and/or performance of said products are less than desirable.

You will save yourself a lot of money and heartache if you ask around and really get the lowdown on any company. I've been burned (no pun intended) a few too many times believing heartless, money-hungry reps that are only interested in their bottom line that will do and say anything to get you on their team. If it sounds too good to be true, in most cases, it is. Just an FYI from an experienced direct sales person.

That is sad because the previous d.s. company I sold with was like that. I signed up with the startup kit and was told that's all I need then they told me to be a success I needed to have a bunch of products on hand. Needless to say I was stuck with a bunch of overstock that I couldn't even sell at cost. On another note I'm going thru everyone's emails sent and the different companies on here and trying to decide if this is the direction I want ot head along with trying to apply for a regular job. It kind of sucks to think that some companies are like this. I've been on another site that is completely against d.s companies and I don't think they can all be bad?

Personally, I think the problem is the rep, not the company, at least thats my experience.

The first company I signed up with, the lady I signed up with was totally willing to help me get signed up, but after that, she was really not that helpful. I rarely heard from her unless she needed something, never called to see how things were going, etc.

And I have heard of others that sign people and basically ignore their team unless they need the team to hit a certain sales level so that they get a bonus or some other incentive.

Make sure you do your research with whatever company you choose. Ask the demonstrator what they do to support their team. Talk to a few demonstrators if you don't feel that connection

I agree with the previous post--I think the right rep makes a difference. I know some who prefer to go on their own and are experienced enough not to need much help from their upline. However, it is still nice to have a good connection and to be able to get as much help as you need.

I had a rep (didn't sign up under this one) who was just so pushy and would not even consider signing up anyone who was not going to drop everything and just concentrate on the busieness. Yes, she would have offered a lot of support, but I could not do all she expected and that was a huge turn-off for me.

So, connection is key and as important as finding the right company and product. You can be passionate about the product and the company, but if you feel all alone, then your path to success becomes a lot bumpier, I think--not impossible, just bumpier.

Again, best wishes. You will find the right company and the right fit. Take your time, and i think you will just know. In the mean time get some samples, try out many products, look through websites, and arm yourself with as much information as you can...that's kind of the fun part to me.

Hi there. I'm a single Mom of 3 little ones so I know how hard it is to raise them , work from home, juggle everything and just afford LIFE, kwim?
I think your choice in looking at a candle business is a wise one.
IF you're willing to really work your business, you CAN grow your income , but it doesn't happen over night so it's best to have another source of income while growing your home business.

You've probably heard about Mia Bella already from someone...our retail earnings are quite high, but our team residual income is what can really help you make a difference in your life. It's great to both retail and start a team.

Feel free to Pm me anytime if you had any questions

Best wishes!

~Debra

It is really sad when consultant's aren't up front with their prospects. It gives all of us a bad name and that is frustrating.

Your end result will show your true intent!

I don't know why anyone would lie about their products, earnings, or services offered because they're not going to make that much from a new distributor who signs up and doesn't like the products. I also don't understand why anyone would stay with a company more than the initial signup if they find out that they didn't like the product or company in the first place.

AMEN!
And I am with everyone else. More often than not...it's the rep/consultant that isn't being truthful. Been there...done that...got burned! (no pun intended)

I must have missed something. I have not seen any reps or companies being untruthful about their products or claims. Most of the long time posters seem to be very willing to help and train their team members. I think everyone on here is really great. There is so much knowledge on this board I guess it's hard for me to think someone would not be truthful.
