I'm a rep with a jewelry company and just last month I joined up with Initials, Inc. I have a customer list that I have built from the jewelry biz. I want to let my jewelry ladies know that I have also rep with Initials, Inc. So....
It would be OK to mail & email my customers announcing my Initials, Inc adventure? I don't want to be spamming anyone or anything.
Thanks in advance

I think that if you send out a one time newsletter announcing your new adventure.....it would be ok. I would not add them to your mailing list unless they ask.
:) Good Luck with your new adventure!

Thanks. That's what I thought too... just a little FYI and let that be it.

I agree, one email, thats it.. and you can ask them in it if they want to be on your Initials email list, to let you know.

I would be careful about doing this. Check the manuals of both companies. I know my previous company didn't say you couldn't sell another line but they said that you could not promote the other line to your customers for their company.
when I joined with Lia Sophia, as an advisor, they didn't have an issue with it (until you get to Management) but the other company did.
HTH and Good Luck with your new venture!

I agree with Leanne you want to be very careful how you handle this. If you don't want to feel like you are spamming them you may want to place an update of your new company on your blog. Then email them to check out your blog to learn more about you. You can also add your link in your signature. You don't want to lose them as your current customers of the other company because they feel like you spammed them.

How about an invite to an open house (business kick-off) instead of just an e-mail announcement? Just a thought!

As a customer, I would appreciate one email or an invite to a business launch or something. I would not like to be placed on the new companies newsletter or anything. I think it is important to let the customers make their decision about which companies the buy products for and get email for. As a consultant, I would also like to make sure that you are not violating any rules from either company.
