Does anyone know where I can learn more about how to put a site together using wordpress? I want to learn on my own and don't want to outsource. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

Here are a couple:
CSS Tricks: Designing for Wordpress - #25: Designing for Wordpress: Part One (http://css-tricks.com/video-screencasts/25-designing-for-wordpress-part-one/)
Killersites University - KillerSites University - Subscribe to receive access to hundreds of video tutorials & podcasts (http://www.killersites.com/university/) (scroll to the bottom...not free, but good tutorials)
And if you like to have an actual book to read from, I would recommend Chris Coyier's (from CSS Tricks) book: The Book: Digging Into WordPress | CSS-Tricks (http://css-tricks.com/the-book-digging-into-wordpress/)

Also if your just starting to use wordpress, find a theme you really like and play around with it. Then after a while you'll be building your own themes.

Thank you for the advice. I am just starting to use wordpress and I found it overwhelming because I didn't know where to begin. I never thought about using wordpress until it was mentioned here in this forum. I wish I would have used wordpress a long time ago.
