View Full Version : Specific States?

Just wondering if any of you have intentionally worked to develop team members in a specific state that was not your own?

I currently have team members throughout the US but there are areas or even entire states that I would love to work and develop deeper.

I have some thoughts on how I might be able to begin but since many of you have been so much help in the past, I figured it was worth asking here first before I move forward with my initial ideas.

TIA!

Nope, its just been co-incidence. I do put ads out in the various provinces, but I am not targeting any one place.

Word of mouth has proven to be a great source of growth I do agree with you "SK" but I do have some states and some areas where we have interest and no leadership or even a consultant available to service these folks.

We still have many parts of the country with way less than 500 consultant in an entire state and there is where I would love to find someone to "break some ground" with us.

Oohh.. I totally understand. I know one of my teammates, last she knew, there were only 50 demo's in her state, so she definitely wants to work on getting more within even just her state. Right now, I give most of the Canadian provinces equal opportunity, but I do know of a few places where there is one or two people just absolutely going nuts, so I tend to avoid those (they are the small provinces of the maritimes, and there are a few people out there expanding all over the place)

I have team members in many states with Homemade Gourmet.. To be honest, they normally find me - which I am blessed. There are many states (esp. on the east coast) in which there may be less then 20 consultants per state...a few with no consultants. I also get many referrals from friends and clients.

I have also found that personal touch and connection - and asking for referrals is VERY helpful in recruiting in a new area. I HAVE to imagine that there are self-starters who are looking for this opportunity - but just have not been asked yet.

And, just because 'now' is not the time....doesn't mean forever. Life situations do change.

To a wonderful 2010, It's already been a great start so far this year...and our new products and some new exciting changes come Feb 1st....I can't wait!

I knew someone who frequently put ads on CraigsList in areas they were targeting and did get a few bites. Not sure if it ended up being worth her effort or not. I found that I got some of my best people from all over, including those areas where there are very few consultants but doing my blog. I am contacted from everywhere. Gotta love the internet ;)
