I was wondering is anybody here a Candle sales Rep or something like that? lol Im just trying to find something where I can earn some additional income because I desperately need it. :) so can anybody offer me their wisdom to this novice? :confused: I am computer literate and I surely don't mind being a live chat operator or being a text operator. I dont have a land line phone so I cant do telemarketing. I read a post that its easier to sale candles than make up so I figured why not just try that. or maybe be a rep for selling gift baskets? :cool:

If you scroll down a little further there are alot of candle companies represented. You might have better luck posting in some of those folders. Ask for information on start up costs, quotas etc. There are some really helpful people there. Best of luck in your search.

Products are easier to sell when you love the products you're selling. Any direct sales business you start with is going to require at least a small investment monetarily speaking even if to just get your business tools.

One thing that helps if you do start in the candle biz & are on an extremely tight budget is to get a brochure and a couple of scent samples from whichever person you choose for your upline and use those to get your first initial orders. This is great for those who can't really even afford to buy brochures or samples themselves starting out.

When looking for a candle company ask a few questions first such as...


What are you products made of?

How long has your company been in business?

How long has the person you are signing under been active?

What is the start up cost?

What do you have to do to stay active? Most you have to sell X amount each mo. or every so many months to stay active in the company.

and my personal favorite

What happens to my company if something were to happen to me? For me this was very important most companies if you pass away your company goes down the drain and nobody can continue it so I looked until I found a company that allowed it to be passed on to my children. So my goal is to have a well established business for them someday where they can rely on a nice income coming in for themselves and their own children.

I agree with Nicole on the being able to pass down your business. I was shocked to learn that with the company I was previously with, if something happened to me, the business stopped. No more residual checks and all that work I did went down the drain.

I really belive that if I am going to build myself a candle business, I should be able to pass it on to my spouse/kids, espcially since they are all very involved in helping me.

A candle business is a great way to go...I've sold several different product lines in the past and have since learned that people LOVE THEIR CANDLES...espcially when they are high quality.
