I'm just wondering how this works. Is it about doing home parties or selling the products. Could you make chocolates and then sell them? Just curious....

Both :) We do home parties showing how easy it is to entertain using delicious Dove Chocolate products and we can sell the products person to person. We do have candy making tools and equipment to make candies and we can offer candy making workshops to teach people how to make candies.

What I really wondered is if you could use the Dove chocs to make a bunch and sell them in Xmas crafts fair etc. I know nothing about making chocolate and have always wanted to try. If I had ready info and support it would be a fun thing to do!

You can make your own chocolates (pretzels, graham crackers, etc..) and sell them at the fairs with our tempering unit. I did it a few times this past year. The unit does all the melting for you and you can dip what you would like in there. Let us know if you have any more questions.

Could someone send me some info about this? I am not interested in "working" the business (doing parties) because I have started another business that is exploding but I am very interested in the products!
Thanks!
You can PM me!

You can order items from any Dove Chocolate Discoveries chocolatier and have them shipped to your location. The full catalog is on our websites. A link to mine is below and I'd be happy to help you out.

I do have one concern with selling food products. Each state may have different regulations, but I know that the state of Texas health department requires that a separate kitchen (i.e., not your home kitchen) be used when producing items for consumption. Proper licensing, permits and insurance are also required. I'm not certain how closely this is regulated. You should check with the health department in your state to make sure.

I used to make candies and filled chocolates, but I only sold them to friends and family. When doing an event where you are selling to strangers, some legal issues could arrise.

Good luck with your venture!
Shelly

It looks like they aren't in Canada. But thanks everyone for the responses!

Unfortunately, that is correct, but we'll let you know if/when DCD branches out to our Canadian cousins! :)
