Hi all....

(hope you all had great holidays!)

I'm helping a friend start up a clothing party plan.

She currently is doing a terrific business selling blingy T-shirts and designer jeans (Miss Me brand especially). She has been selling at other venues besides home parties.

She now has several gals that want to sell her products so we're trying to figure out the best way for her to go about it (as in compensation/cash & carry/being able to order/etc).

So any of you that have ever sold clothing, I would love to hear from you so I could ask you a few questions.

Please PM me with your email address so I can easily get back to you, OK?

Thanks so much,

Sally

Sorry Sally, I haven't. I have a friend who used to sell Modbe though. Maybe I can get her in touch with you.

Good luck! I'm sure there will be a lot to go into it.

:) Health, wealth and happiness!

Hey Steff.... Thanks!

I just thought I'd come back on here and relay that there is another interesting party plan out there that is selling body shapers. (Corsets!)

I was at a function a few nights ago where the neighboring booth was selling these $160 suck-it-in garments! (teasing... but not about the price!)

The interesting thing (by what I was told) is that the company pays out 40% commissions. Seems good for a clothing related company, doesn't it?

Anyway.... I think a company doing garments has a rough row to hoe. It's just rough to create the margin to allow for the items to be sold through parties - being able to pay decent commissions as well as have a good hostess program.... not to mention so many other obstacles specific to clothing.
