Hi Every one, I know the main stream media always tells us how bad fat is, but me and my wife run into this book, it is well worth reading.

Please check this out: The Weston A. Price Foundation (http://www.westonaprice.org/)

Its really wiled, we are now drinking milk direct from the cow, my wife is making yogurt, and we have lots of good butter.

I will love to head responses regarding other peoples ideas about the matter.

Thanks Eco.

Well, the information is really interesting, but still I heard milk (even natural one) is good only for children, and digestion system of adults is not ready to work with it

I have never been concerned about fat. I enjoy milk straight from the cow. I hate 2%. =)

Your post got me curious. I found a nice page specifically on In Depth Food Facts about Fat.

From all the research I've read we have made many changes to our diet. We don't drink milk unless its Raw. Milk isn't necessary for children. Calcium enriched food on the other hand is very important. Thanks for sharing the article.

Or, try this link. Facts about Fats (http://www.askdrsears.com/html/4/T041300.asp)
or, Fat - get the facts (http://www.chewonthis.org.uk/fat_salt_sugar/fat_home.htm)

I liked reading both negative and positive sides of the topic of Fat. It's always good to see both sides to every topic.

As a kid I had milk straight from the cow that my grandparents had. I turned out ok (so I'm told :) ). I heard and read so many times though that adults shouldn't drink milk that way. I don't know if all these articles are paid for by the companies that do the pasteurization or if they are real... Had to know these days what's good for you and what's not because everybody's selling something.

This is a very interesting topic. I have read many things indicating that cows milk in general is not beneficial to human bodies and that the majority of "facts about milk" are false claims made by the dairy industry and backed by the government to trick us into believing it is healthy. One such notion that scares me is the multiple independent scientific studies that show the calcium in cows milk is not absorbed as efficiently as proclaimed due to a protein also present in the milk.

Everything you hear on tv and read online about food, is somewhat true. But then again, some of the things are crazy! i was watching on NBC, that there is more people dieng in these days then back in the 1900's, becasue of the food intake. Why that is, because of all the hard substinces that people are putting in them. There is more hytose corn syrup in foods now, it's so unreal. Why are people making everything sweeter? Don't they know thats what making people fatter. Then again now days it just all about the money!

EZDisplay has it pretty close to the truth. Not all fat is bad -- some fats are essential for health. Milk fat is NOT. No animal consumes milk after weaning from it's mother and humans shouldn't be doing it either.
The big "joke" is that dairy is probably the worst way you can get your calcium. Do some research. Go read about what happened in Japan after dairy products were introduced into the diet. Read about how the countries with the lowest rates of dairy consumption have the lowest rates of osteoporosis and the countries with the highest rates of dairy consumption have the highest rates of osteoporosis.
All milk contains growth hormones -- all of it. Organic milk may not have "added" growth hormones but it still has the naturally occuring amount. Baby calves need to grow quickly so their mother's breastmilk has a lot of growth hormones.
By the way, the bovine growth hormone matches the human growth hormone and so it attaches to the receptors in our bodies very easily, confusing our bodies into thinking it's human growth hormone. So when you drink milk, you're getting extra doses of growth hormone in addition to your own.
I think the reason so many parents have problems getting their young children to "drink their milk" is because the kids' instincts know something that adults don't -- cow milk is bad for you.
And for the record, I'm not a vegetarian -- I like my meat!!

So true. They keep changing it around. Milk is good, milk is bad. Eggs are good, eggs are bad. I think moderation is the key.

In the case of the example that you cave above, such as an egg or other naturally occurring food that is not a "pure" constituent, there will be a combination of two methods used,

I have a small amount of milk a day now, a few years ago I kept feeling sick everyday then I reduced my milk intake to zero I felt better, but I realised that I need some calcium so I introduced a small amount in my cerals. I feel great now.

Some good arguments for both, there are good fats that we should all be having.:)

I never drink cows milk. I grew up in the dairy belt and I have osteoporosis as do most of the women in my family. As a child I was forced to drink several glasses every day. Nutrition Data is a cool site that will produce a nutrition like you see on a package for any food. If you make it yourself you can put in the recipe and it will make a label for your recipe. If you haven't seen this site before, here is a link: Nutrition facts, calories in food, labels, nutritional information and analysis – NutritionData.com (http://www.nutritiondata.com/). If you are into nutrition it is fun to play with.

Unusual approach. Do farmers not have you arrested for this, and isn't it pretty risky? http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/tiere/animal-smiley-034.gif

Although milk is fattening but it is a must protein diet for everyone !

That is SO wrong!

The only ones meant to drink cow milk is baby cows not humans.

Milk is loaded with bovine growth hormones, unhealthy FAT, VERY hard to digest and causes acne and skin problems.

I quit drinking it many years ago and all my acne cleared up!

Despite what the phony baloney tv commercials tell you...milk is NOT the perfect food!

There are WAY better sources to get protein and CALCIUM from than commercial cow milk!

Brocolli has way more calcium than milk and a few raw almonds has way more protein than cow milk.

Cow milk.

Mooooooooo! I mean Boooooooooooo! :D

LOL! hee hee

I will leave you with this link...

MILK is a deadly poison. Each sip contains growth hormones, fat, cholesterol, allergenic proteins, blood, pus, antibiotic, bacteria and virus...
The NOTMILK Homepage! (MILK is a bad-news substance!) (http://www.notmilk.com)

P.S. the CLOSEST to human milk is GOAT MILK.

Goat milk and cow milk are not even in the same ballpark!

So if you feel you really need milk go for goat milk.

It taste the same only a WEE bit stronger.

Deborah, I used to looooove dairy products until I stumbled upon that website about six years ago. Now I look at dairy and it's just gross. Flat out disgusting. Great for baby cows, though!!

No mammal in nature -- except humans -- drinks milk past the age of weaning and they most certainly don't drink the breast milk of another species. No bovine breast milk for me, thanks.

I can't believe that some people still think that MILK is the PERFECT food for humans!

The "proof" on the dangers of cow milk has been out for years!

We started using it when my son was diagnosed with milk allergies, and have not looked back.

This makes me feel better about not liking milk so much as a adult. ;) If I do drink milk I drink almond milk, mainly because being a diabetic it has WAY less sugar/carbs in it than any of the regular milk. I have found this just works better for me. This has been some interesting insight though. Things I have never thought about like after the calf weens it never drinks milk again. huh... Thanks for sharing!

Everything is so nuts now days eat this not that do this not that. I personally want to enjoy my food. I just use portion control and exercise daily. That does not mean I will run out and buy KFC's new Double down that thing is just horrible for those of you that have not heard of it, its a sandwich with two chicken filets taking the place of bread slices. In between are two pieces of bacon, melted slices of Monterey Jack and Pepper Jack cheese and sauce. WOW to much....

Me too! Actually I like a glass of milk and, because of the reports of antibiotics and whatnot found in the milk from large processing plant, usually go for organic milk when possible. Generally speaking, less processing the food or food like substance (think artificial sweeteners) goes through the more easily your body will process it. Non- foods made up of created fats and fake sweeteners make your body store fat. That is one of the reasons there is so much obesity now, in addition to sedentary lifestyles.

I've exercised every day for one hour, so I have never been fat. I think as long as you are very active, you will burn off the calories you eat and be ok. I can't speak for everyone of course. I'm just saying my own experience.

Drinking milk is the worst thing you can do for your bones. A quick Google search will show you that the countries with the highest dairy consumption have the highest rates of osteoporosis and the countries with the lowest dairy consumption have the lowest rates of osteoporosis.
Groups of people who shy away from dairy because of allergies or lactose intolerance also have low rates of osteoporosis.
Please stop listening to what the Dairy Council is telling you. Their job is to sell dairy and make as much money as possible. They don't care about your health.

Remember when they tried to tell us to eat margarine because it was oh so much healthier than butter...

And then it turned out that the transfats in margarine are the most damaging and evil of all -- even in minute doses? I'm glad I never liked margarine and always preferred butter instead.

Milk is an opaque white liquid produced by the mammals. It provides the primary source of nutrition for young mammals before they are able to digest other types of food.Cow's milk contains, on average, 3.4% protein, 3.6% fat, and 4.6% lactose, 0.7% minerals[31] and supplies 66 kcal of energy per 100 grams. So no harm to take non fat free milk.
