I am wanting and in search of a laptop as an "extra" computer to sit in with the kids at times. It would be great on heavy fall days to be able to access GAO if I need to. I know when I first signed on a few years ago, I thought we had to use a regular computer but I think I have seen a few of you mention laptops.

I'm just wondering what kind/size you are using and if it works well for you.

Thanks!

Yeah I use one. But mine is one of the little ones (10 inches). the screen doesnt show up right (resulution maybe?) on it but my brother's 15 inch it worked great on:) So, make sure it is a larger screen and what I would do is just hook up a regular keyboard to it. You can just buy a 10 key which I have one of those, but I ended up just getting a $10 keyboard to plug into it which is easier to use, more comfy and cheaper too.:)

I can't get it to open on my laptop, but I haven't really needed to so I never "investigated" it any further as to what settings I need to change or if something needs updated (mine's a bigger one). If you get it to work, I would definitely suggest getting a regular keyboard as stated above. If I'm doing any lengthy keying on my laptop I always plug one in, otherwise my hands get cramped up very quickly.

I definately would get a keyboard to go along with it..... I am so use to typing on the split keyboard, I can't even use my kid's regular computer and keyboard that long without my hands cramping up.

I guess I'll look for a big enough screen as well as a larger memory and try to find the specs they require. It's a huge issue if it doesn't work out as I have my work computer at the desk.... it just would be nice to be able to sit with the kids for the few weeks in October that I can type all evening - -

Thanks!
