I guess everyone read the March Newsletter and saw the candle samples that were made using the candy molds.

Well, I bought them today and I started working and did them and I have to say that they look so beautiful and they STILL smell wonderful!!!

I was afraid that they might lose the smell but they didn't, in fact i put them in small baggies and stapled them to my business cards and put all of them in a big ziploc bag and everytime i open the bag I can smell the candles.

I can't wait till I give them out!!

I want to melt more candles, LOL!!

Sorry got carried away a little, LOL But I just had to post that they do work.

I think I willl try this too, many people look at me and think I am giving them drugs (with the shaved candles). This will be alot easier.

About how many do you get per votive? I think I'll keep the
shredded ones for mailing, but I was thinking about the molds for the
COTM scents (and others that I have several votives for)

I have used little heart molds for Valentine's day. They are very cute!!

It would be great if the company came out with mold trays that said mia bella huh? lol smileys/smiley36.gif

But for now, (lol) Summer would be a great time to make some little flower molds.

I was talking to a prospect for another distributor & she got the little sample shavings & said she was confused as to if they were from the actual candle or not.

I think the distibutor who sent them didn't name the scents just put a grape sticker on one?

I think the little molds are fantastic to send out or use as samples. People would LOVE them! I made some Baby Bootie tarts & put them in a Baby clothing boutique w/Coconut Macaroon jar in a basket w/brochures & postcards.

Cinnamon, Where was the link on Ebay if you don't mind me asking. I would like to have a bigger variety then what Michaels had to offer.

Thanks smileys/smiley2.gif

Do you ladies attach a little card or sticker letting the prospect know what you've given them and how they can use it?

When I got my grated scent samples, I wasn't sure if they were some kind of scent cyrstals that are used to make the candles or what. So I didn't have any idea I could burn them and scent my whole room. I actually poured one into a little dish and kept it beside the front door like an air freshener because I didn't realize I could burn it. smileys/smiley9.gif

And approx how manymoulds do you get from one votive?

Hi, yes I will be attaching mybusiness card or brochure and the letter that I also attach will include that they can put them in a tart warmer and see how their house will smell sooo wonderful with the different scents. If I send out scent samples (crushed ones) I also indicate that they can put it in a tart warmer the ones with the tea lights. Or you can sprinkle it on your rugs and use it as carpet freshner. Once you vacuum -- hmm hmm it smells so good. I also get the round stickers that Jennifer recommended. They come out so nice. I put those on all of my scent samples.

I had about close to 30 with two votives. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

yeah i used the Coconut Macaroon votive and used the mini molds yesterday and I made 20 samples, i put one sample in a baggie stapled to my business card stating that I sell gourmet candles.

I already left some at a restaurant and my mom gave 2 to some ladies that were at Wal-Mart looking for candles. They put back the candles and said they will call. So I'm just waiting

I bought mine from this ebay store http://stores.ebay.com/CABIN-CREEK-CANDLES-AND-MORE

The molds where about $2.50 to $3 and shipping was $2.50 for the first mold and .50 for each one after that.

OK, the messages post here are making me want to make scent samples with candy mold.... my questions are:

Do Michael or Hobby Lobby sell those tiny mold? I don't want to use big ones.

Do you melt votives on the stove, or what do you use to melt them? I am not really comfortable about fire and all that....

If you use those mold scent samples, would you be able to mail them as part of your Info pack with first class mail postage? I have been using grated scent samples, and they are small enough that I don't have to pay too much postage.

Thank you for your support

Hi, yes Michaels sells them. I bought the tiny hearts, and flowers, and tina bunnies (so cute) ..

You take a small pot, fill it half way with water (get it boiling) For my cup I used a glass measuring cup, split the votive in half and put it in the cup. Stick the cup in the pan with the water. You will see it melthttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Then I took it out and poured it in the mold trays. They dry pretty quick... after I poured them I let it sit for a few, then stuck them in the freezer for about 5 minutes and ta-da .. they were done and they still smelled great !!! smileys/smiley2.gifI have the 1x1 baggies, and the small hearts fit perfect in them. It's really cute to do and its easy and fast. Hopefully I explained it correctly. If not let me know. Thanks.

good luck !! smileys/smiley1.gifEdited by: christina4733

Green2win, Forgot to answer your other question, yes you can still mail them like the scent samples. I would just make sure something is around them for protection or they will break.

You can use them for marketing, make a basket and attach them to your business card or brochure and leave the basket at a store, people just can take them. Or at flea markets... Or you make say 5 different molds and put them in a sachet (michaels) and sell them for2.00 ..sell them as tart warmers. smileys/smiley2.gif

smileys/smiley1.gifgood luck

Hi Ladies,

I love this idea! I have been wanting to get away from the shavings but did not know whatelse I could do with them besides give out votives. This is absolutely prefect!

Thanks Cinnamon for the link. I was able to find me a nice tart warmer too.

Many Blessings,

Natalie

Great idea!

Do these still smell through the baggie like the shavings do?? Also what size are you using? Do you think people will think it is candy? I already have a warning lable that I use.

Is this ok to do per the company?

Thanks for the link Christina!

What kinds of molds are available at Michaels.

Are certain materials better than others? Will one of these be enough to use as a tart warmer sample?

I got some too!!! I bet this Ebay girl is wondering how she got so many orders in one night. LOL! The power of MIA BELLA!

I got the small stars one.....so cute!!!

I always include in my letter what to do with the grated shavings. Poke holes for a car air freshener, share with family and friends to get their reaction, use in car like carpet powder and vaccuum up, etc.
