I'm new to this job and about to file my 2009 return. Any advice on special deductions related to working this type of job?

Since I have only worked for a few months I didn't do quarterly tax payments this past year. Does everyone do quarterly tax payments? What percentage do you take out of each check? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I do quarterly payments but only because I usually owe over $1,000. I take out about 20%

Deductions are internet connection and anything else you have to buy to do the job. If you have a home office dedicated to work only (not a music room/office or laundry room/office or bedroom/office) you can deduct the cost of that room, be it rent, electricity, what have you just for that room.
