I just read a spam email that stated, "signup your husband, your adult sons and daughters to your business."

Does anyone do that in their direct sales/home party plan businesses?

I know some don't allow it.

Just curious because I don't see the benefit ??

There can be enormous long-term benefits, depending on exactly how the comp-plan works. It's a hugely complicated subject.

I believe that, these days, many companies prohibit sponsoring a spouse (as it can be open to abuse at the later expense of your upline/sponsor, again depending on the comp-plan details) but as far as I know they (have to?) allow it in the case of other family members.

The only restrictions I have seen is that you cannot sign up another person living at the same address, but that is company dependent. I know a lady that signed up her hubby, and they obviously live together (different business than I am in)

As Yuliya said, there can definitely be advantages to signing a family member. For one thing, if they are wanting to work the business, sign them up! I know quite a few people that have signed siblings, parents, etc, and the family member works their business just like anyone else.

If you are signing them up to assist you in getting a bonus, an extra reward, etc, just make sure you know the effects of it. Are they going to need to put in sales on an ongoing basis for it to be worthwhile, or can they sit there and do nothing and it still helps you? Somes when you are extremely close to a next level/bonus/etc it can be worthwhile to sign them just so you have a body on your team.

Same here; enrollement is one per household (address). We allow two people on one membership with one being the primary. Aside from that, it remains one per household, but may sign up other family members living outside the home.

Hope that helps.

We actually have no restrictions against this, but the way our stairstep breakaway comp-plan works, in the long run, you'd potentially lose as much as you'd gain by trying it as a bit of "creative accounting", I think. It's enormously complicated, though.
