If so, how often do you meet? Is it formal or informal? Do you have a prepared agenda or just "go with the flow"? Where do you meet...coffee shop, restaurant, meeting room, etc? Is it just your team or can anyone from the same company attend?

Thanks!

I think for anyone, it depends on the size of their team and the time they are willing/committed to put into their business.

For me, I love to have local meetings and invite anyone with the company to attend. It's a way to connect with other locals in the business. Say you can't do a party, nor can anyone on your team, reaching out to another rep will help them to think of you and your team should the situation be reversed.

So, I'll do a company-wide meeting AND a team meeting. I like team meetings at my home, because I'm able to show my office, file systems, product storage cabinet (and the products in it!). I can stay comfortable, prepare a little food and drinks. And I don't have to travel. I'll hold the meeting even if only 1 person RSVPs. If I can give 1 team member my undivided attention, because they traveled, I would, no doubt!

For the company-wide meeting, I'd like my company to pay for the costs of the room, though this doesn't always happen. But is nice when it does! You can always set the city/town/area where the meeting will be THEN decided where depending on the number of attendees.

I like quarterly for company-wide meetings that I organize and monthly for team meetings. I know we're all moms here, I am too. If I didn't have kids, the team meeting would be weekly. But I need to work around my family, so monthly is perfect. As long as it's always the same, like "second saturday of the month at 1pm".

I would say, that if the meeting were in a hotel meeting room, I would charge per person a small fee to cover costs and make it formal. There should be an agenda with set topics and the meeting should be professional. Having an agenda in any regularly scheduled meeting is important, as it brings people back. Be consistent, have an agenda and leave time for socializing!

We hold monthly meetings and receive an agenda from Home Office. It is an 'open meeting' and anyone, on any dowline is welcome to attend. It works well because many of us have team-members all over the US. Everyone posts their meetings on our Stylist Space.

You can personalize it, delegate roles, offer incentives~whatever you would like to do.

Why do you ask? How does your company do it?

Monthly meetings with an agenda. I love to have an outline for any meetings/conference calls I put on for my team. Even my more casual "Panera lunches" during the summer have some theme to them. I don't believe in being completely rigid nor do I believe in doing something completely unstructured.

As in life...everything in moderation. Right?

Good luck to you, Charlee!

I believe having Monthly meetings with an agenda and agree with Jennifer. It needs to be professional without being stuffy :-) It doesn't matter if you have 2 or 200 at your meetings, it has to start somewhere. When you group is small, I encourage having them in your home (or the library) and then as you grow...move on to bigger spaces as space allows.

Good luck!

I could not agree with Louann more.
I would rather have 2 committed and passionate team members at my meeting than 20 people who just showed up out of a sense of obligation.

Have no expectations on numbers and just begin building those relationships with your team members.

Happy 2010!

Mine are very laid back as well - sometimes at my house, sometimes at a local restaurant - next week at a mexican one here - so excited! Thirty-One provides Directors and above that are holding meetings with an agenda and materials for each lady attending - they are themed and we can do with them as we with - structured or unstructured. At mine I do recognition based on who is there, company announcements and then we just share ideas based on the theme! Each attendee at our January meetings will get a new spring catalog and surprise....so excited to see what this is probably a new spring product!

I too had rather have a small meeting with enthusiasm!

Due to my team being so spread out, I decided to have an online chat with my team last night.. two of my girls showed (i have 9 on my team). but it was great because one is relatively new so she got some good one on one training and we were able to address specific questions she had.

I much prefer having a small group and getting to help that person that just rambling for an hour at more people and not knowing if they took in anything I said
