I live in an apartment community, and every month they give away gift baskets to "early birds" those who pay rent before the first of the month. They also do drawings with gift baskets as prizes- I won third place in the St. Patrick's Day gift basket drawing and didn't know it until the property manager called me!smileys/smiley36.gif
So I was thinking of approaching her if I start the business again and asking if I could make up a gift basket to be entered in the next drawing, or as one of the next "early bird" baskets. Then at least one person in the community would get some samples/info. There is a VERY strict "No Soliciting" policy so I cannot put up door hangers or knock on doors and hand out brochures/business cards etc. smileys/smiley21.gif
Someone had put up door hangers for a local restaurant and I saw the property manager going around removing them from doors, and I heard her saying she was going to contact the restaurant!
They also have a monthly newsletter that all residents get and there is space on the back for advertising- only $20-$30 depending on ad size, and an Avon rep advertised for this month! So that is something I could do. I could call her and ask if she is getting a lot of business from it?
Anyway just wanted to share- those of you who live in apartments might want to try these ideas.

Very good ideas.
Your mind is spinning and you are doing some excellent planning. I congratulate you!
I haven't even ordered my COTM yet, but I am just like you. I've got pieces of paper all over with marketing ideas, pricing info, retail prospects, etc. Those who plan - succeed! smileys/smiley2.gif
Blessings,
Vicki

Arcadia,
I would definitely call the Avon rep and ask her how the advertising has
worked for her. Then, if you decide to try it out, be sure to ask the person
in charge of the advertising if she burns scented candles- perhaps you can
barter for your ad and save yourself 50% on the cost.smileys/smiley2.gif
