View Full Version : Like the BodyShop?

Hi all, I'm just curious, as a deep lover and customer of TheBodyShop products---if your products are the same or similar? Many of their stores have closed and so has their @Home division, which is a bummer! Gosh, I learned SO much from their consultants that whenever I was in the mall and went into their store, I knew just as much (if not MORE) than the store clerks! LOL---I was showing and telling their customers the best products to buy and why! They were so impressed, I was constantly getting asked to fill out an employment application and get hired! :-)

Anyways, no, I don't want to sell skincare. I am just wondering if Botanical Swiss products and product line is as good as was TheBodyShop? They were such innovators of skincare til it really breaks my heart, as a customer, to see them go belly up in the U.S. The last product I bought from them a few years back was a heated mask. Nobody else had that at the time. Then, the next year or so, major skin care companies took notice and I started seeing heated masks on even drug store shelves! Also, some products that the consultants had, wasn't offered in the main stores, so that kept customers loyal to the @ Home shopping experience. (smile)

I am just so amazed when I go into even Walmart and see companies who normally didn't even offer skincare products or much of a skincare line, now, have all kinds of products from skin masks to anti-aging...because they have learned that it is a multi-billion dollar business and industry! But the biggest problem with (buying from a store shelf) is, television commercials cannot duplicate or give the kind of one on one care and attention that a personal consultant can! With so many products and product lines from different manufacturers for customers to choose from, it can be an overwhelming and daunting task if you don't know your skin's particulars that a consultant would know as well, too. That was the ONE major bonus I can't tell you how tickled (and so product educated) I felt whenever I went into the mall store! I haven't been in one of their stores in some time but I remember after having been away from buying from a consultant for a while and having gone into another store...so many new products had been introduced--and having no clue about them specifically--that I once again, felt like a scared fish out of water--and their indifferent store clerks were of no help and not much use to me.

So, what I am stressing here is more along the lines of WHY consultants are SO valuable and SO needed within the skincare industry! Even if Botanical Swiss had an actual store...the same thing (aka-((product/skincare confusion)) would happen to customers who haven't a clue as to what exactly their looking for and which products would best suit their needs! So happy holiday's to all you consultants and a VERY happy, VERY healthy and FUNancially productive, upcoming year! :-)

Hi Love2know,
I hope I can help you out a bit. I used to use Body Shop (but only from a store, not a consultant) before I started with @rbonne. I did like their products and I liked that they did not do any animal testing.

What drew me to @rbonne was a few things. I consider them environmentally friendly; they do no animal testing and use no animal products or by-products (so they are safe for vegans and vegatarians). But I would not keep using them if they were not a quality product. Because they are formulated in Switzerland, they follow their guidelines for products. I love how our products feel and the results I, and others, get from them.

@rbonne does use cutting edge technology. What's great about network marketing and direct sales is that the company can put their money into product development instead of paying for advertising and store space. They will also be introducing over 100 new products this year.

I think this may have addressed only a few of your issues so I hope it helped. Please feel free to email me if you have more questions or want to try anything out. (You can PM me but I'm not on here all the time and can respond faster to an email.)

Take care and make it a great day!

I sent you a visitor message, but just in case you don't get that.

Since you mentioned the Body Shop, i wanted to let you know about a sale they are having and you can order on the company website (I used to work for them in a store, but I am no longer affiliated with them in any way, I just love some of their products).

Today only you can buy 3 full sized body butters for 30.00. That is a fantastic deal, and I thought I would let you know about it.

I ordered six myself and got free shipping, too!

Best of luck on finding what you want.

Melissa

Yeah! You and me, both. I just can't bring myself to going into their direct competition (Bath & Bodyworks) and trying out their stuff....I'd feel almost as if I betrayed a very good friend...
