I want to try to do fundraisers with my candle business, and would love any advice anyone can give me.

If you have done fundraisers, how did you set it up? Did you contact the place or did they seek you out? I am really interested in doing fundraisers for schools. Anyone here have experience with that? If so, how many did you contact to get that yes?

Anyone here do it through email or mail correspondance--as in send out letters about the fundraiser...or did you seek out places in person?

I could use any info anyone is willing to share.

Thanks in advance,

Melissa

Fundraisers can be great because they're for great causes, but they can also be a pain. For example, you have to get special forms filled out if they're tax exempt (e.g. churches).

There are many ways to get fundraisers. You could send an information packet of your product, what you'd be willing to offer as far as earnings on sales, advise whether you would be willing to bag products and deliver them to the fundraising group or if you want them to do so, whether or not you'd provide scent samples along with your brochures and if any products would be excluded.

There are many places that need to raise funds: schools, churches, clubs, preschools, individuals with hospital bills, burial expenses they can't afford, etc. Then there's also the major groups such as the March of Dimes, Race for the Cure, etc. where you could actually just form a team, have people sell, and donate a portion of the sales to your cause!
