I know we're all about using our own products in our home, but during this time of year I wanted to remind us all to be our best customers when it comes to holiday gift giving!

We all have such amazing and beautiful product lines, we can give just about everyone something from our own business.

Interestingly enough, I don't burn that many candles. Needless to say when I do burn them, it's ours. So I thought one day, 'How can I be my own best customer when I don't burn that many?'

Then I realized, I don't have to burn tons of candles to be my own best customer. I can, however, give them as gifts whenever possible.

This time of year, there are opportunities to give our products (and get a business write off at the same time!), and expose our unique product lines to people all over the place!

Aside from our obvious recipients (family, friends, co-workers, etc), there is a plethora of people that we come in contact with on a regular basis.

Some people that are usually forgotten during the year are:

Mailmen/women
UPS/Fed Ex drivers
Bank Tellers
School Bus Drivers
School staff, and not just the teachers. What about the janitors, librarians, administration, etc?

We can start signing the song, 'who are the people in your neighborhood?' :D.

I, personally, usually use votives and a holder, and include a little note with the gift letting them know how much I appreciate them and the work they do throughout the year.

A small token of appreciation can lead to wonderful new friendships, customers, and sign ups.

Plus, it just feels so darned GOOD to do!

We all get such amazing discounts on our products, why not take advantage of those discounts to share the joy!

Happy Holidays!

Jhanna

Great reminder. Once all of my customers are taken care of for the month I'll see what is left over for me to give. Right now I'm afraid to use anything for fear one of my customers will want it as a last minute gift to give. Wish I had a crystal ball sometimes. :)

Great post! I love giving candles because every time someone lights on, they usually think about who gave it to them or what memory it is attached to. :)

Thinking out even further, Jolena, imagine when they light that candle when friends and family come over and those people say, 'that is a GREAT candle you are burning! What is it??' ;)

Don't forget your crossing guards! I felt so bad driving by the crossing guard outside all morning in this cold I wanted to go buy her a hot chocolate. I might just have to give her a freebie with a "Thank you" card even though my kids are just in preschool, I appreciate her valiant efforts at keeping children safe.

Thanks for the post, Jhanna!
