I've been working on my site template and wanted to get some other designer's opinions...

Kismet Designs (http://www.kismet-designs.com/index2.html)

No content has been entered yet, still working on that

I like it. Quite colorful. Like the background design in the header.

Only thing that stuck out to me is the menu on the left side of the page kind of sticks out. You have this bright, vibrant header with the same menu options and then this plain navigation bar on the side. It feels kind of out of place.

I think I would either spruce up the navbar on the left or drop it and make the content of the screen scroll under your header so that the top menu bar is always visible.

Just my $.02

Hi:

Very good and modern. You took a graphical approach to designing instead of contextual so you need to add one graphic to the big purple block that says KISMET DESIGNS. As soon as somebody enters the page, they should know what you are offering pictorially.

Then the left menu bar, the fonts are too big. Reduce the size and please don’t Bold. It makes them shout. Every text below the header should be black. So change the purple color to black but leave the Our Clients as green, but lighter green. That part is not part of your welcome content so it should be in a box.

Lastly, the copyright notice is too big. Google will index it. Copyrights are not indexable. You can get penalized. Reduce the font size to very small ones.

Now you are ready to go.

Good luck and all the profits or customers you want.

Thanks for the comments! I spent entirely too long this weekend getting lightbox working, but I've got a start on putting my portofolio back online!

I'm looking to build on the lightbox script so all of the templates aren't displayed on the page at once....

It looks great :) Well thought out and easy to navigate. I love designs that are not cluttered!
