This is why I honestly love the puppy approach. You let them try the pup, then they love the products and want to buy them. I would never have wanted to have a show at my house and I know I wouldn't have been able to get my friends to come. By just letting them try the product, they know what they are getting and it's great.

hi wendy,
i did order 2 pups (1 for myself & one to pup out) however three of the products are on backorder & the only sent me travel size in 2 of the 3 that are on backorder so i dont even have 1 to do the puppy dog approach with at the moment. i know that isnt much but you have to go with what you can afford. thanks for the input.

I am a new consultant and found that my products are also on back order. Is this a common thing?
Also, not to sound like a dunce but why do they call it the Puppy Dog approach?

Valerie,
I had the same concerns about backorder, but my RVP told me it's not common. Arbonne's amazing growth, their refusal to substitute ingredients when the real deal isn't available, etc. is causing these temporary shortages. I don't have a full pup either to send out, so just waiting patiently.
My RVP also said that the reason it's called the Puppy Dog is because if you give someone a puppy, they never want to give it back!

BigCheese, there was a big training event in Atlantaon June 4 about the puppy, I believe it was called something like Puppy Dog Basic Training. There was 4,000 in attendence, so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

Ah, ok. I just got an email from my upline saying that Arbonne will be
releasing information about the puppy dog on Arbonne's web site on
Friday. I think the puppy approach could be a good one but don't really
have the $$ to buy them right off. Thanks for the info ladies!!smileys/smiley2.gif

Tootsie - that sucks that they are on back order. I hope it's released soon.
Bigcheese- Acutally the Puppy Approach was developed by Andy Inman. It's called this because it's like a warm fuzzy puppy. Once you get it, you don't want to give it back. I get that response every time it's time to get one back smileys/smiley2.gif

Direct Sales/Network Marketing doesn't necessarily have to mean Party Plan

I haven't had much luck selling the puppies I pass out. I think it is because the girls I know think they are too young to wrinkle and are at the age when they don't have a lot of money. BUT, having said that, passing out pups has helped me get a few bookings for parties. If they love the product, but can't afford it at the moment, I always say, "Ya know, you should have a party. The hostess ears free products. That's a good way to get your RE9 set." It's worked a few times.
Good luck!
Grace

ok another ? what do you do if you give it to someone & they use it & like it but when they find out the cost they cant afford to buy it? it has already been used so what do you do with it? i'm sure it seldom happens but there are certain times of the monthwhen i wouldnt be able to pay for something that big! jsut wondering what you all do in cases like that.
we had a presentation tonite at a hotel conference room. my aunt, mom sister & i all went in so the price was right however only 1 person came(she brought a bunch with her but only 1 sell & 1 signed up) so it was kinda a bummer. i have decided you probally do best throwing yourself on the mercy of friends instead of strangers or acquiantances(spelling). i am gonna try & get a couple of spa parties booked. gotta go sell jewelry tommorrow so i better run/ you girls are really great to know. good nite!smileys/smiley2.gif

The idea behind the pups is they are your employee. You keep them to hand out. When you pup someone, you let them know this is just the one they are going to try. If they decide that they want the same thing, then they would order it and get a brand new one sent to them. If you pup them and they aren't going to do a party or going to be a customer at a party, let them know that because it retails for $266, it qualifies for the $100 for $20. Once they realize they are getting the entire RE9 facial line plus another $100 for $20, they may be more interested.
Remeber, there is more than one way to skin a cat.

You can do one of two things here. Either get a full set of the Basic line to pup or pup the RE9 and if they say it's too much money or they don't feel they need anti-aging yet, then suggest one of the other lines.
Go figure, a party plan without parties.
This business can be done very successfully w/o having to do parties. That is what appealed to me. I know that I wouldn't have been able to get any of my friends to come to a spa party or make-up party here at my house.

Well, ladies, this is the scoop I have been given on the puppy dogs. My Rvp upline attended the training in Atlanta. According to Arbonne, starting, I believe in Aug or Sept, you will have to be super careful about doing the puppies. In other words, you don't want to give a used puppy to someone else...because it could be infected. You don't know what someone else has done to that puppy in the privacy of their own home.( They could be using the fingers instead of the proper stick that comes with the night creme)They could easily have a staph infection. This is only to benefit us, the consultants. Arbonne doesn't want us to get sued over a matter like this.
Now, you can give someone a brand new puppy and only hope they inted to purchase. smileys/smiley2.gif. If anyone has heard anything differently, please advise!!

the puppy dog approach and not even talking about parties and

This is not true. NVPs are training on puppy's but they are not
switching! We use both in our Nation. Cecelia Stoll has
started doing pup training in OK because there are so many consultants
there that it's hard for some of them to book. I live in PA, and
we are doing very well focusing on parties/classes. It works for
us. Cecelia is advising us not to switch because we have been so
successful and are not having problems booking. We received
training on pups last week so that we could get the information from
our own NVP and hear what she thinks. She recommended trying it
when we have months with few parties booked.
I just wanted to clear this up, because I have heard a few times on
this and other boards that the NVPs are switching to puppy dog approach
and not doing parties anymore. I know some focus on pups, but we
focus on parties and use the pups when we don't have much booked.
