I'm thinking about starting a career in selling insurance and I found someone online who has a school online. He says it costs $5K to join his school to learn about the insurance business and advertises his school as working in your pajamas. How do i know if this is a scam?

I have my insurance license in OH I didn't go to school to learn when I wanted to get my license you had to go to a one week class there were a couple companies that offered it in my area about a year after I got my license they came up with classes online that you could take instead of having to got through the one week class I would have liked that much better. Every state has their own rules on this.
I would do a google search on his website and see what you come up with. You could post the course in here on wahm and see if anyone has heard of him. You have to keep up with your education you will be required to get so many CE credits every so many years to keep you license. Good luck!

I wouldn't say it's a scam, but once you get licensed and once you get contracted with a company or organization you can get training. The main point at this time is to get licensed if you want to get in the insurance industry...
