View Full Version : Thinkng about rejoining- in the summer

Hi all,
I am thinking about re-joining the company, in the summer... but this time I want to be very careful about whom I choose as a sponsor. I want to interview Diamond level distributors and above to see who would be the best person to partner with. If you could reply here and answer some questions then I will start contacting you for more info.
Name:
Level (diamond or higher):
How long have you been with the company?
How many people are in your downline?
Which part of the business do you primarily focus on (retailing, fundraising or sponsoring)?
Do you have a very specific set of guidelines/procedures that you follow to work your business, and how well has it worked for you?
How available are you to answer questions and work with your team? (like weekends only, nights only, anytime.. etc)
Do you work with new team members step by step to help them build their business?
On average, how much income do you generate monthly from your business (you don't have to answer if you don't want to, or you could just give a general ballpark figure)?
What is the biggest obstacle you have overcome in your business?
If one of your team members decides to leave the business, are you understanding, or do you call them a quitter?
Thanks and look forward to speaking with you...

I'm not Diamond, (yetsmileys/smiley2.gif), so I don't
meet your requirements, but wanted to wish you much luck. It's an
important decision and we hope you do decide to come back! The ladies
here are great, so I don't think you can go wrong! Take care.

How long have you been with the company?
I joined November 15th 2005
How many people are in your downline?
Currently I have 18 women and one man on my team.
Which part of the business do you primarily focus on (retailing,
fundraising or sponsoring)?
I do a little bit of everything, because I think you have to have experience
with all aspects of the business to be an effective sponsor and coach.
However, I am a teacher by nature (certified with a masters in SpEd) and
my passion is coaching others and teaching parents how to run a family
business and involve their children actively in the process. I run my
business largely online, but also have an active offline program, with a
few retail vendors, some established repeat customers, and some
fundraisers in process.
Do you have a very specific set of guidelines/procedures that you
follow to work your business, and how well has it worked for you?
Our team has a suggested process to follow, along with the Roadmap to
success. Of course, we all customize these guidelines, but between the
guidelines set out by those already successful in our team, our archive of
recorded training calls, and networking with other leaders in our team, I
have had a lot of success. (I went diamond in just under 2 months.) I
work with my team to define their goals and set daily actions, weekly
plans and monthly benchmarks to achieve their short and long term
goals. If I don't personally have the experience in a specific area
someone wants to specialize in or focus on, someone on our team does,
and we refer out or do 3-way training calls to get partners the support
they need.
How available are you to answer questions and work with your team?
(like weekends only, nights only, anytime.. etc) I am a SAH, WAHM
and I am online throughout the day and check in with my team weekly
(some of us communicate daily!) I am also available by phone mornings
and afternoons, and evenings after 7pm; and by appointment on
weekends. I will 3-way conference team members or prospects into
opportunity or training calls any time by appointment. My team has my
cell and personal email contacts and are free to use them anytime. I will
work with you as little or as often as you like- I am as committed to your
success as you are.
Do you work with new team members step by step to help them build
their business? Absolutely. We start with the Partnership Agreement
so that I get an understanding of your goals, how you want to build your
business and what your focuses will be. Then we work together to create
an action plan, and work through the Roadmap together. I also have an
e-training series as well as 1:1 training on a regular basis as regularly as
you want- as often as twice a day or once a week- I recommend at least
once weekly when starting out.
On average, how much income do you generate monthly from your
business (you don't have to answer if you don't want to, or you could just
give a general ballpark figure)? I think this depends on which area of
the business you are focusing on and how you are willing to get there. If
your need is to make money, FAST, I suggest going with home parties, at
least to start. With one home party per week, you should average $300-
$500 per month in your first month, and that is a lowball average. If your
focus is purely on Residual Income, you may start with $50 profit your
first month, but by your 3rd month, you should be looking at around
$1500 CV (again, low ball, and speaking from personal experience). I do
not emphasize retail, but even without trying I average about 2-3 cases
of jars and 3-5 cases of votives monthly with is about a net profit of
$240.
What is the biggest obstacle you have overcome in your business?
Time and patience! I never have enough time in a day to do everything I
want to do, and it is so hard for me to be patient and wait! LOL! It is
important to look at this business as a marathon, not a sprint. Which
means that training, preparation, and endurance pay off heftily over the
long haul.
If one of your team members decides to leave the business, are you
understanding, or do you call them a quitter?
Here was my response to a team member who asked me how to leave the
program this month: "Hi NAME, all you need to do to discontinue your
candle of the month shipment is send an email to corporate from the
contact page on your website and let them know that you want to cancel.
I'm sorry that this isn't the right opportunity for you right now- I know we
haven't had a chance to work together, and I understand that this has
been an exceptionally hectic month for you. If you would like to have a
phone conversation and discuss some easy ways to use the products that
you have on hand to put some money in your pocket, please let me know
and we can chat when you have time. Please keep my email on file, and if
the time comes when you would like to come back to us, My team and I
will always be here with open arms, ready to welcome you back! Best
wishes to you for happiness and success in all your future endeavors.
Sincerely, Kitt
--All excellent questions. Good luck with your research for a new
Sponsor. I am available to answer more questions or to chat if you'd like
to get more of a feel for my personality or to go over some suggestions I
would offer you for how to start your action plans based on your interests
and goals. Have fun, and enjoy the process!

How long have you been with the company? Since July 05.
How many people are in your downline? 9
Which part of the business do you primarily focus on (retailing, fundraising or sponsoring)? My primary focus in on retail sales, reason being, that is where the most immediate income is at. I do work the other aspects of the business, but I joined this company to SELL the candles and make money. smileys/smiley1.gif
Do you have a very specific set of guidelines/procedures that you follow to work your business, and how well has it worked for you? Yes, and so far it has worked.
How available are you to answer questions and work with your team? (like weekends only, nights only, anytime.. etc) I am available pretty Mon-Sun from 7 am til whenever I go to bed. I am online quite often, and always respond to emails within a few hours. I post my phone number on my team yahoo group so that I can be reached whenever they need to speak with me.
Do you work with new team members step by step to help them build their business? Yes, I ask them what they want out of this business, planning their short/long term goals. Then we talk about how to achieve their goals and build business. I am a firm believer that if you don't sell the candles yourself, you can't teach other's how to sell them.
On average, how much income do you generate monthly from your business (you don't have to answer if you don't want to, or you could just give a general ballpark figure)? I work my biz only part-time, on avg, I would guess 200 to 300 a month, by retail only. That doesn't include commission from downline earnings.
What is the biggest obstacle you have overcome in your business? That not everyone is going to be interested in my candles. Theymay love the smell and quality, but not interested in buying. I have taught myself to say SW, SW, SW, N - Some Will, Some Won't, So What, NEXT!
If one of your team members decides to leave the business, are you understanding, or do you call them a quitter? I think its up to each person to decide if this business is for them. I am fortunate to have only lost 1 person since I started, and it was due to financial reasons and I don't blame her one bit. I have been there myself, and almost had to give up Mia Bella.I support my team no matter what they choose to do, and along they way we become friends, so even after the fact we stay in touch.
Thanks and look forward to speaking with you...
If you would like to speak more, you can email me at bamasweetscents@aol.com,by phone, or pm.

Originally I sent a pm, but I will also post it here:
Sometimes, it gets down to do you get along well on a personal and business level with a good sponsor too. Feel free to call me at 888-636-5115 to chat a bit http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif.
Here are the answers to your questions:
Name: Debra Carter
Level (diamond or higher): Diamond
How long have you been with the company?7 months
How many people are in your downline? 14
Which part of the business do you primarily focus on (retailing, fundraising or sponsoring)? I like a variety so I do a bit of everything. Home shows, craft fairs, employment expos, fundraisers, consignment shops, and sponsoring.
Do you have a very specific set of guidelines/procedures that you follow to work your business, and how well has it worked for you? I am a stay at home mom with 2 small children. I try to work an hour in the morning, check email throughout the day and work after the kids have gone to bed.I am a firmbeliever in "to do lists" and reminder files.I believe in repect and ethics. And of course, have fun with this becauseyou should enjoy what you are doing.
How available are you to answer questions and work with your team? (like weekends only, nights only, anytime.. etc) I am always home to answer questions - I do run errands and pick up the kids from school, but I am usually always available or return calls right away.
Do you work with new team members step by step to help them build their business? I like to see what each person is interested in, have them build small goals for themselves on their own pace. I don't push, but I am their for support and motivation. I provide access to all training and we now have a chat room that one of our team members put together complete with message board. We are now voting on the best time to have weekly chats to share ideas, goals, tips and also to just have a little fun.
On average, how much income do you generate monthly from your business (you don't have to answer if you don't want to, or you could just give a general ballpark figure)? It really varies on events I am doing and the residual income. It varies from $350-500/mo right now. With my husband's schedule I need a babysitter for each eventso I limit my events to weekends.Once both of my children are in school full time I can devote more time schedule appointments to fund raisers and consignment which for me is going very well.
What is the biggest obstacle you have overcome in your business? I think at first starting out, setting my own goals, and getting organized.(My husband's scheduletoo)I started getting serious about my business at the beginning of the year and have doubled my incomeand promoted to diamond in just 3 months. Things have really been exciting on our team!
If one of your team members decides to leave the business, are you understanding, or do you call them a quitter? I just had someone decide to become Associate instead of COTM - no I would not call anyone a quitter, things come up in people's lives. This business may not be for everyone. What I really love is that they gave it a chance.
I am excited to hear that you are again considering Scent-Sations, good luck with your search whomever you choose! Welcome back http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

How long have you been with the company? I joined in June 2005.
How many people are in your downline? 30
Which part of the business do you primarily focus on (retailing, fundraising or sponsoring)? I primarily focus on recruiting, however I do some retailing here and there and show the candles as often as possible. "Smell and Sell!"
Do you have a very specific set of guidelines/procedures that you follow to work your business, and how well has it worked for you? I basically set goals for myself each week as to what I want to accomplish in business. Whether it be to share the opportunity with a certain number of people, to post flyers, to call prospects, whatever - I just try to set goals and make sure I achieve them.
How available are you to answer questions and work with your team? (like weekends only, nights only, anytime.. etc) As anyone on my team would tell you, I am available anytime. They are surprised at how fast I respond to my emails. I am available mostly all day and through the evening.
Do you work with new team members step by step to help them build their business? As long as my new member WANTS to work with me, I am open and willing to help them along step by step. I say this because some people will join and just do their own thing, and thats fine. Butfor those who want the help and guidance - I am right here for you!
On average, how much income do you generate monthly from your business (you don't have to answer if you don't want to, or you could just give a general ballpark figure)? On average, just from my downline, I make around $300-$400 monthly. From direct sales, which I dont focus on as much, I make a few hundred as well.
What is the biggest obstacle you have overcome in your business? My biggest obstacle has been just opening up and talking to EVERYONE about my candles and business. But, I overcame that obstacle in the first few months and its SO easy now. Especially when I KNOW I have a product that is of high-quality and a business opportunity that is absolutely wonderful.
If one of your team members decides to leave the business, are you understanding, or do you call them a quitter? I completely understand if someone has to quit, although I would like to encourage people to give me a call and talk about things before making the final cancellation. I just want to make sure that its not something I can help them fix. If someone wants to quit because they had a bad experience with a customer, CALL ME and lets discuss it. If they want to quit because of a family issue or something I cant help, then I understand and I wish them all the best of luck in their next chapter.
I hope this helps a bit and I'd be happy to talk to you further.
This is truly a wonderful company and you're making a good decision to come back! YAY! smileys/smiley2.gif

This is truly a wonderful company and you're making a good decision to come back! YAY! smileys/smiley2.gif

Christina,
I really want to be able to leave the corporate rat-race and just focus on school, and a home business. I am getting the degree not so much for the career, but I guess just to prove to myself that I can do it. Expanding knowledge is always good. And I will have something to fall back on, never know what the future holds.

Arcadia!
That's very wise!
I wish I would have known about this great industry
BEFORE
I went to college!
I went to college for 10 years. I loved every minute of it. However, there is nothing like creating financial and personal freedom in your life. It's pretty amazing!
A new mom, who is in her first year of undergrad, just joined me. She's really excited about building a residual income while she goes to school.
These days with social security dwindling, conventional businesses cutting out retirement and other benefits, the economy consistently changing, women definitely need to have a back up plan!
And you can't go wrong with this scent-sational company. It's very solid. The products are shipped without breakage and in a very timely manner. The management seems very solid. It's such a great product/s.
AND THE MIA BELLA DISTRIBUTORS ARE SCENT-SATIONAL!

Lori,
I agree. I am very impressed with everything I have seen and heard so far. It is NOT a shady, "fly-by-night", "pyramid" company but rather a SOLID company with a real business opportunity!
No worries about the company going under! lol

You're absolutely right, Lori!
And it's not just women that need a back-up plan in
this economy, everybody needs something that can
help them minimize their vunerability and also help
them get ahead. Owning your own business,
complete with all of its inherent tax advantages, is
one thing the financial "experts" seem to agree on.
Congratulations to you, by the way. I noticed that you
were one of last month's Sponsor Monsters.
Way to GO!!
