This sounds like an area that we are all struggling in. It's hard for me because our other biz brings in no income and added stress, so before where I could take a break with my biz, now I have to work harder while also working with my husband and then trying to make up for the time my youngest is in daycare, due to the guilt.

I was thinking, maybe we should all schedule work hours: including surfing hours, check email times, phone times, party time, team time and family time and see what happens. With summer coming up, I want to spend lots of time outside playing and catching the sun instead of stressing.

Anyone want to join me in trying to schedule and balance better?

I'm all for that Debbie! Cort is big enough to be able to play outside this summer and I don't want to miss out on that with him staying in here and working all the time. I have to get a tan for a wedding I'm in this summer too and I refuse to take even more time away to go to a tanning salon! So, I'm just gonna go strapless outside when I'm playin with my boy!! I really am looking forward to it this year. Last year I was paranoid about everything and was scared to go outside for very long with him because I'm just silly like that. I'm not going to do that to him this year. He has to learn how to be a sweaty, dirt loving, tree climbing little boy and I've got to let him!

Hi Deb, one thing that I do is break the day up into 3 parts of 4 hours each. I only work 2 of the three and the other 4 hours is fun. So, if I have a party to do at night, the afternoon is my play. If I have appointments during the day, my evening is my play. I think it is so important to schedule that free time. That's why we chose a home business in the first place!
I don't do much online, as it doesn't really get me anywhere. I choose to do only the things that have lasting effects on my business when it is work time. At least that's my goal~ I don't always make it- but it's a good plan.

One step ahead of you Deb (aha! smileys/smiley36.gifsmileys/smiley36.gif). I actually started by taking a little sabatical from the computer for a while. How refreshing that was!

But, yeah! We treat so many other things as "appointments" don't we (i.e., when we call customers and/or hosts, when we do parties, etc.) that it shouldn't be much of a stretch for us to apply this practice to other things in life.
