I ended my second year with WFL as a QR in September. At that time I applied for LP, LB & AR positions.

My application with LF is still "in progress" which seems to be typical for former WFL employees.

I was told by LB that they currently had enough raters and would like to keep my application on file. Fine by me- that at least makes me think that they are remotely interested. Last week I get an e-mail back from them stating they are hiring again and would like to move forward with my application. Great! I don't hear anything so I'm worried they didn't receive it or that I replied to the wrong e-mail, etc. I sent a quick e-mail just asking if my e-mail was received, if there was something further I needed to do, etc. I got a response this morning stating I was "unsucessful" in getting the position. :(

Not sure what I did wrong- I have the experience, my scores were always high with WFL, I had 2 full years with them (you would think they would WANT people with rating experience), and if they weren't interested in hiring me why even send me that e-mail!?!

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Any tips? Do I just keep reapplying or is that pointless as well? I really loved working for WFL and would love to find something similar, but it's starting to feel a little hopeless.

I remember some past threads where others have had similar experiences and speculate that LB does not hire former WFL workers. Whether this is true or not, I don't know.

It seems that almost anyone that worked for one company and tries to hire on with another doesn't make it for one reason or another.

I too enjoy this job and do not look forward to my end of contract. I will probably try to hire on with a different company but think that I will create/use a new Gmail address and not use prior experience/employment in my resume.

I too loved working for WFL. I called them yesterday and asked about being rehired after my 3 month break. They said that G's policy is to only hire temps for 2 one year terms. I'm sure that is the case no matter what company you apply for because G is ultimately who you work for.

I'm a former WFL rater. It's my understanding the 3 month rule and the 2 year max is only for WFL. With WFL you are actually an employee, LB and LF you are an independent contractor. WFL is a temp agency and I believe the break and 2 year max has to due with temp employment laws in CA (where WFL is located) and has nothing to do with Google. It's a whole different ball game as in independent contractor. I haven't tried applying anywhere else yet. I'm going to keep trying for WFL when I can (in a few weeks) maybe the Ads position. I loved working for them. Also being an employee made me eligible for unemployment so that's nice. In the new year I may start applying to LB or LF but it sounds like my chances are low.
