I've been wanting to open my own daycare when I buy a house, but I've been planning it for a while now. i've been debating if I should open a strictly preschool daycare. Like from ages 2.9 through 4 years old. Can you do that? Is that discrimination in anyway? I figured that I would probably have one baby (my own) and then all preschoolers and have a entire day dedicated to running like a preschool in a school would.
Another idea I had was 1/2 day preschool- early morning session for 3 year olds and an afternoon session for 4 year olds. Do you think that would be something that parents would be interested in? Would you if you lived in the area?
Thanks!

If I remember correctly from when I did daycare ... Its your business. There should be no reason why you are not able to make the choices that fit what you want and or need. Some people only accept schoolage, some only do infants, some only take special needs. It's really what is up to you!! I know some providers that were only open Monday through Thursday. Advertise how you want your business to be run and you are good to go!! You have a right to interview your families and who is in your care just as much as they pick who watched their children.
Good Luck in your daycare :)
