(Please only reply if you do them, not to tell me you don't because they don't work smileys/smiley2.gif)

I know they never end up doing as good as a home show (except my girl friend who pulled in a $200+ catalog show), but since I'll probably have baby #3 in about 3 weeks, and starting next month my husband will be working full-time + overtime at work AND working 30hrs per week on building our house (we're going through a USDA program so we have to work 30hrs/week, no matter what), AND we'll be trying to sell our house, I don't want to schedule parties because I don't know when he'll be working or what. Oh yeah, and who knows how much energy I'll have!!! LOL

So I want to focus on recruits for both businesses and catalog shows/birthday parties (where I don't have to be there) for each one. What's the best way to market this? Is there a good way to write up an ad to get people to want to do the catalog show vs. a home party? Or does anyone just have ideas you can toss around? I'm having problems thinking today... maybe because it's nap time!

I don't know that there is a certain trick to having successful catalog shows, I think it is more dependent upon who is doing the catalog show for you. I have done several out of state catalog shows and they were around $750. I don't usually offer catalog shows when I am doing my in-home shows, because generally, you do have higher sales when they can see, touch and try on the jewelry. Maybe offer extra incentives for hitting certain sales levels reached or a certain amount of orders. Make up a hostess tic tac toe with different goals to reach for each square and when they get tic tac toe you give them something special that they really want. Just a thought.

HAve you utalized any of The Booster items for catalog shows? Postcards mailings to past hostesses should help you get going.

Well, one thing you can focus on is the ease of having a catalog show vs. a home party. I know (speaking as a customer rather than a rep), I'd actually prefer to have a catalog show. It's so much easier and there's not as much involved. (Oh and didI mention my house doesn't have to be clean? LOL)

Another thing is to remember, to "train" your catalog hostess as much as possible. Fill her in on as much as you can (without overdoing it of course). Remember, she's not the consultant/rep etc and you're not going to be there to answer the questions. Of course, make it loud and clear if there is any questions to feel free to call you ... but give her a quick run down of the company so she can answer questions quickly too.
