Okay I need some ideas! I am sure everyone could use some ideas! LOL I have been working from home since 2007 and I worked as a customer service through a chat window. That job ended for me in June. I really didn't look for anything until now since I was pregnant with twins. I recently had my twins in September and now I need to start making money again!! I almost need to do something from home. I also have a 3, 8 and 10yr old. I have really been looking for something that does not require a phone. I have looked into writing and blogging but I am just not really sure if I can make it on these! Just not really sure where to start. Does anyone else have any ideas? What do you do from home that is non phone? I just need some new ideas. I feel like I have been out of the game for too long. Ideally I need to make about $350 a month. Thanks in advance.

If you're considering writing, you may want to look into transcription. I know you have to take some course work for that, but there seems to be a pretty good demand for transcription.

Technical writing positions are sometimes available as telecommute positions as well.

The chat window you mentioned reminded me of getting support for my computer and my printer. I spoke with support analysts in both those cases through chat windows. I'm not sure what work at home opportunities are available, but you may want to check with some different computer and software companies.

Hope you find something very soon and best of luck. :)

Amy, I want to start by saying that your goal is 100% attainable. I just jumped back into the WAH world myself towards the end of September and I managed to earn about $240 of spendable cash without having to adhere to a schedule, pick up a phone, or spend anything out of pocket.

I personally haven't been able to find any sort of support positions like what you mentioned but there are other options.

I used a mix of GPT sites, review sites, surveys, etc to meet my goal of $200 last month. This month I'm aiming for $300. (Baby steps!) It's important to be careful not to burn out though.

I'd recommend checking out people signatures for blogs/websites that can give you suggestions.

You can make $40 a month writing reviews for Wanelo (a website for parents). They pay $1 per review, in increments of 10, with a maximum payout of $10 a week (this could change later). Just search Wanelo on the forums for the thread with the details.

There are also a lot of legit survey sites that are worth checking out.

KGB is a question answering service that is flexible, but does actually require you to schedule time to work. You only have to work 8 hours a month to stay on as an agent with them though. They have a folder here on wahm that you can check out. You probably won't even make minimum wage working for them but a few dollars here and there is still better than nothing.

I don't know if they are still hiring or not but you might want to check out Leapforce About Leapforce (http://www.leapforceathome.com/) for their quality rater position. You can try http://typists.quicktate.com for transcribing email messages. They don't pay a lot but they are good for a fill in as well as seeing if you would like transcription. You can also check http://www.livework.com they have some projects there that are not phone work. Freelance Jobs | Demand Studios (http://www.demandstudios.com) has positions that are not phone from title and keyword QA to writing. If cloudcrowd can ever dig themselves out of beta and their issues and get some more work they may be an option for you as well. The general suggestions for non phone work is blogging, writing, and transcription you may want to check out all three. There are a few more options for non phone. You may want to also check out Outsource to Freelancers, IT Companies, Programmers, Web Designers from India, Russia, USA, and more - oDesk (http://www.odesk.com) as well.

HTH :)
