Hi. I'm a newbie here. I've been trying to find something I can do to make money that I like, and can work from home. I've been looking at all the candle companies, wondering how to know which smells the best, and which makes the most commission without having someone work under you (just selling). Don't get me wrong, I would happily sign someone up that was interested. I was just thinking if I found the right product, that pays the most, I could start making money right away.
I was wondering also if any of you make a living at selling candles? Is it possible?
If you want, you can answer here, or PE me at vrstarfire@yahoo.com. Thank you.
Vicki

Hi Vicki,

I do believe you can definitely make a living selling candles - anyone who is dedicated to work the business, get out there and book shows, make contact with people, etc. will grow their business rapidly.

I have done a few home shows now and a fundraiser and the response has been great with SoyLicious.com candles. Everyone seems very excited about the products and the eco-friendly soy candles.

There are several candle companies that have low start up fees, etc. You can try a few and see what works best for you, or you can speak with a rep and get a lot of details and then decide. I did that when I was looking and am very happy with the decision I have made.

Anna will be a great help to you I am sure and she has a great support team to help you as well. Get some samples, hear all about the entire program, and I do believe SoyLicious.com will be one of your top choices. We are a new company, which leaves a lot of room for growth and improvement, but we are making great strides already and everyone is very willing to help each other. Best wishes on your decision!

Hi Vrstarfire!

I saw Anna is sending information on SoyLicious....woohoo!

I've been looking at all the candle companies, wondering how to know which smells the best, and which makes the most commission without having someone work under you (just selling).

The best way to compare would be by sampling the products. If you're able to buy a full size product, even better. Ask friends/family to help you decide which candle is the best as they will be future customers. Research....research....research the compenstaion plans and see what works best for you and your needs. Don't be afraid to ask questions on how the company works.

I wish you the best!

I made enough last month to make a car payment on a newer vehicle if that gives you any idea. I totally believe it is possible to make a living selling candles. It's all in what you put into it.....
Is it always easy? No. But the rewards far out weigh any negatives.

Finding a company right for you is the hard part. Everyone has a different structure. But Gold Canyon has been best for me. Believing in what you are selling is essential - so shop around for companies and get some samples, compare $cost per ounce, burn times, and commission structures....

Good luck!

Greetings Vicki,

I've answered your questions below...

Hi. I'm a newbie here.

>> Welcome to WAHM.com! I've been on this forum since about 2001 :)

I've been trying to find something I can do to make money that I like, and can work from home. I've been looking at all the candle companies,

>> Candles are a great choice! They are enjoyed in 8 of 10 US homes on a weekly basis!

wondering how to know which smells the best,

>> This is a test only your sniffer can decide {wink} I'd recommend buying a candle of a similar size and scent from each company to do a test. Things to test: the aroma when burning, the scent 'throw' (distance the aroma fills), wick (does it smoke or mushroom), smell when you blow out the candle.

and which makes the most commission without having someone work under you (just selling).

>> With Mia Bella you get a discount of 50-60% off all your candle purchases, in advance (you do not pay the full order price and wiat for a commission the following month, you get to keep the profit in your pocket).

Don't get me wrong, I would happily sign someone up that was interested.

>> If you decide to build a team you can earn on many levels on a very generous compensation plan.

I was just thinking if I found the right product, that pays the most, I could start making money right away.

>> You are in the right frame of mind!

I was wondering also if any of you make a living at selling candles? Is it possible?

>> Most certainly, yes! There are people with Mia Bella as well as other candle companies making hundreds, thousands and tens of thousands of dollars per MONTH.

If you want, you can answer here, or PE me at vrstarfire@yahoo.com. Thank you.

>> I thought I'd answer right here in case anyone else was wondering :) Please feel free to PM me if you'd like a free biz kit and scent samples. I'd love to chat with you via phone to answer any and all questions. It is always important to find a sponsor who resonates with your own ideas and energies and talking in person is a great way to get a feel for that person :)

Another thing you want to consider is what exactly you will earn if you sign up with a company. Ask for the brochure prices and the distributor costs to see the true earnings. And ask for costs for distributor supplies.

Anna from Soylicious has already responded to you and she is a great team leader! I just want to add some info...

With Soylicious you earn 40% on all product sales online and offline and put the money in your pocket the day you make the sale. The company pays for the hostess gifts so it's not coming out of your earnings. We have low costs for distributors including: 10 cents per brochure, $35 for a full sample set, $2.50 for 20 invitation postcards. We offer a wide variety of products that are not only affordable for the distributor but also for our customers wanting higher quality products for less money.

Good luck on your candle company search! There has really been some great advice on here to help you on your way.

I am not sure if you have made a decision yet or not, I am new to this forum today & thought I'd let you know that you can join PartyLite for Free when you host a starter party that has sales of $350! That's how I started, no out-of-pocket, just family & friends to help me get going! I make 25% of my sales without having anyone work under me & it only goes up from there if I decide to sponsor more people!

If you are still looking then contact me and I'd be happy to tell you more!

This is starting to look attractive but what I don't like is they have noncompete rules..like you can't recruit or sell to your Cierra ashley customers/recruits..i find that too restrictive ..for eg you are in 31 so that means you can't sell bags to your Cierra recruits/customers or sponsor them into both, correct? What is the fragrance made of?

The policy states that you cannot be with another "home fragrance" company and attempt to recruit, sell or market this other home fragrance company to your CA advisors, or customers. This is both as an active advisor & someone that is inthe 6 month window of leaving CA. Since 31 is not a conflicting company, yes I can offer this to my team, and recruit people as well.

The fragrance is a concentrated oil that is in a canister. This canister is placed inside a tray in the fan unit. Which then prevents any spills or young children from accessing it.
