I received an email yesterday from Careerbuilder.com that said that Karl's Bakery was offering me the chance at a part time at home position and it would pay $1400/mos. Here is the email:

All our positions are ENTRY LEVEL ones and also some training courses take place in our company.
You may carry out your work directly from your OFFICE and at HOME. Our basic wage is 1,400.00 USD/month.

I did a check on BBB and cannot find a company named this. He sent me back a response to my first email, but it has an attachment and truly, I am afraid to open it. So I sent an email back saying that I couldn't read the attachment and it needed to be sent in an email. I'm very leary and thought I would ask..."the experts"!

Since they are located in another country and the job title is payment manager I would say scam. They will probably have you process payments and checks that will end up bouncing in your account. I am always very leery of any position that is outside of the country and has anything to do with payments.

I agree--it sounds like a scam. "Processing payments" from another country usually involves the use of your bank account. The scammers obtain that info from you, send you bogus checks that are cashed against your account and they go on to steal your funds and, possibly, your identity. Be very careful!!

Yeah, as soon as I read Payment Manager, I figured scam as well. These people are now using Career Builder and all of the other major jobs sites to run scams. Even Craigslists posts a warning page before you can got the jobs section. These scammers prey on everyone everywhere it seems!

$1400 per month for working 2 hours per day? That kind of screams 'scam' to me.

How you'll get paid.

You will receive a basic salary ($1,500.00) and 5% commission from the sum of every accepted transfer that is remitted into your designated account.
(For example, with every $1,000.00 transferred into your account you will get a commission of $50.00).


We give a promise to find at least 3-5 clients in your region to guarantee you a minimum salary (including the base salary) of $1,600.00 - $1,900.00 a month.

You can get your salary every week directly on your banking account ($375.00 a week every Friday) or ($1,500.00 monthly, each of the first)

Please choose most attractive for you option.


Note: If you don�t want to use your own account because of some reasons, you may open a new account specially for this job position and accept all our transactions here.

hmm..... sounds suspicious due to various grammatical errors. Also, they want you do provide a bank account...And they are not telling you want you will be doing...I don't know..sounds phishhhhy to me!
