I know that the minimum is 8 hours per month. Do you HAVE to schedule those 8 hours in Rota though? When I first started, I scheduled my shifts and would try to work extra if needed. Lately though, most shifts are understaffed so I can log on without needing to book a shift.I know scheduling is the only way to guarantee hours as well. I'm well over my 8 hours for this month, but I'm wondering for next month. If I don't book any shifts but still work 8 hours is that okay?

Anytime you work it counts toward the minimum hours.

I very rarely schedule. I hop on during the evenings, which almost every noght I get the we need help email. Also if I know I want to hop on, I'll check the rota and schedule myself for 15 minutes sometimes, and then go longer if it's a bit busier.
