Number one. Download firefox. Your spelling is as bad as mine, just the whole world doesn't know I can't spell because I run FF and it corrects my spelling. You are about to lose your home, not set it free.
for the books post them on half.com they won't make you rich, but it's a start.
I doubt the clothing will sell unless it's baby or maternity. Or maybe really good condition designer stuff.
Also try Craigslist. No fees or shipping!
I do ebay and amazon as my 9-5. If you have specific questions PM me. I will say that personally I like amazon waaaay more. Everyone thinks the fees are more, but after ebay's insertion fee, up to 15% sale price fee and then paypals fees, amazon is so much cheaper.

Normally my spelling is not so bad I should have proofed it but I have been a bit stressed about the situation and posted quickly . I will however before I post anything make sure it is correct. Thanks for the advice on ebay and the other sites.

*hugs* No, I understand.
I hope you find something, you are totally in the right place. I have been lurking here forever and have found multiple ways to make some money. If I was to become unemployed, I think I could scrape by :) I heard on the radio thing are scheduled to get better (whatever that means) but it's a bit of good news!

Kriket, you sell on Ebay full time? Is it worth your while? I am doing it a few days a month and do well with it, but am thinking about doing it at least part time to see if I can make more $$.

Kriket: You say you like Amazon better? I've been thinking of trying it. I have an ebay store that is going okay but I need to pump it up a bit. I was thinking of using amazon for books, but when i ran a few sample books it seemed liked there were tons others out there selling the same thing for mere pennies what they were worth. What do you think?

ncgirl3608: I am employed by someone else but i work so independently it would take me a few days to notice if he left the state. Probably when I paycheck didn't get signed lol.
I DO NOT ebay full time. We used to, but last xmas ebay lost their marbles and pretty much shut us down. For the volume of sales I do, it's slow, clunky and doesn't play nice with any of my software I hate ebay and always have. I use to now to get crap out of my office, broken game consoles, lots of crappy controllers, things like that. Ebay is my trash can.
now, there are people out there that do very well on ebay, i'm just not one of them.
maureenf: i love amazon. it is our bread and butter. we actually have 2. one for dvds and one for everything else (which is perfectly legal) Books, and even dvds are such a saturated market. especially books. amazon started out as a book seller and they like to keep that their main event and discourage sellers with fees and restrictions. like i have a seller central account and am not allowed tp sell books at all (thats why we have the 2nd account)
other then that the interface is seamless, a-z guarantee is awesome the only gripes i have are so minor, like occasionally a feature will go down for upgades and i have to wait a few hours to do a task. i should learn to take that time to freshen my coffee and stop whining!
sorry for no caps, nak

eBay is great. Watch out for your fees, though; they can eat you alive.
Key things:
Full descriptions.
Good pictures.
Positive customer service policies!

I am sorry to hear about your financial difficulties. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Here is one invaluable tip that has helped me to be quite profitable on Ebay:
Categorize your items into separate groups, and then take one of those groups and sell all the items in that specific category at the same time: When people go to a grocery store, it is most likely because they are looking to buy groceries, not a car, or a boat, so it is advantageous to categorize your items. Not only should you sell your books at one time, your clothes at one time, and your collectibles at one time, but I also suggest sorting your books into different categories as well, as well as your other items. The reason this is so beneficial, is because you can get one seller to buy multiple items of the same type.
For example, in a series of successful auctions on Ebay I sold nothing but Legend of Zelda type items, so when one interested buyer wanted a Zelda item I could refer the buyer to the other Zelda items I was selling at the time. Not only is this appealing to the buyer because they can save on shipping costs on multiple items, but also because they can get more of what they like, from the same seller, without having to deal with a bunch of different auctions from different sellers.
I hope this helps. When I get more time in between my frantic job search I will post more tips in this thread. God bless you.
