I just received an email from someone who requested a long list of products that they wanted to order from me. I don't know this person, but I do think that it sounds really fishy. She wants either 3 or 6 of each item. When I looked more closely at the email, it says to undisclosed recipients and starts out with Dear consultant. Has anyone else received something like this? She did sign her name, but she didn't give much more information. Just thought I would share, so no one would get taken advantage of. It seems like we had something like this going on several months ago. Nancy

Hello! I'm a Jafra consultant and just received a similar e-mail. It's a person that claims to be female and new to the computer, although she says she is a computer person at the end of the email. LOL. It's also for a long list of products and anywhere from 1-5 of each product. She wants to order straight from me and pay with a Certified Cashier's Check or Money Order, and have a "Financial Clerk" deal with the shipping. Yeah right!! How dumb do they think we are? I second your warning. If it looks way too good to be true, it usually is.

Good luck and hope you all have a great week (scam-free). :-)

These messages have been very popular witha ll direct sales for the past couple of years. Typically they will be from a "model" or someone from another country, asking you to place a large order, and they want to pay through a bank transfer. Typically they find your email oon the web and are really trying to steal your banking info. Do not respond to this type of Scam. The same email typically will go out to hundreds of consultants, and they are "phishing" for the naive ones that will respond.

I placed an ad on craigslist once and received this kind of message. Just ignore it. Total scam!

Definitely don't respond! I know that they have sent this email before over the last few years!

The curiosity of how the scam worked was killing me so I emailed her back. I expected she would ask for my banking info and was shocked when she didn't. She wanted to send me a cashiers check via fed-ex for a large amt. I was to deduct the sale amt and western union her the balance. Further intrigued, I agreed. A few days later she emailed me with a fed-x tracking number and asked me if I could go ahead and wire the funds since her assistant would be leaving the country the following morning (which of course I did not do). When the fed-ex envelope arrived, it was EMPTY! Big suprise. It was from a made up address as well.

You're in the wrong business! You should be a spy or something! Haha...good for you. I was wondering how they suckered people in too. Thanks for sharing.
