I remember when I was a kid that I used to use crayons to color my candles. I don't remember having any problem with it, is it possible? I just ran out of color for my melts and I have a few more sets to make! UGH! I hate when that happens!

Thanks so much lacandlegirl! I have been to craft server several times and asked questions and never once got an answer. My questions are viewed but no one takes the time to respond to me. I will go do a search and see what it gets me. Thanks again for taking the time to answer me. I really appreciate it.

Hi Laura,
I did a search on Craft Server and it appears that the general consensus is a big NO. I really didn't find a straightforward answer but the general talk was that crayons don't burn. Which doesn't make alot of sense to me but, hey, they are the 'experts' LOL So on to plan b (as soon as I figure out what that is!) Thanks again for your help!

hmm...that does not make sense to me either. Aren't crayons made out of wax? (scratching my head) Oh well, I'm no expert either. Do you have a Micheal's or Hobby Lobby close by where you could get some temp. color block or dye? If not just don't add color. Some ppl don't mind the color they just want a nice, clean, fragrant candle.
Good Luck and sorry I could not help more.

I live in a very rural town. The closest Hobby Lobby or Michaels is 2 hours away. Needless to say, I don't go there much! LOL I made some sugar cookie melts that have no color and they are amazing! Smell so yummy. I saw someone who made melts without color, just fragrance. Claimed they were "green" that way. I'll just make plain ones until I can get some color. I might 'try' a batch with crayons just to say I've done it. If it doesn't work, then I haven't lost anything. You have been a big help. You responded to my question! That is huge! LOL Thanks very much, I sure appreciate it!
I just visited your Etsy shop and noticed you are from Missouri! ME TOO! Where are you located? I'm in Simmons. 75 miles East of Springfield between Cabool and Houston! Small world huh?

Hello, I read somewhere years ago, that you aren't to use crayons to color candles. I don't remember why. Also, someone told me, just because you don't color your candles, does not mean they are natural, What is your scent made from?? etc.
