ok I need some help!!!

I don't ever shop on ebay... ever but.. I thought I would give it a try to see if I could save money on a couple of things. So I won an auction (yay!) then proceeded to try to pay for the item I won. That's when my silly blonde self realized oh crap I can't just pay with a CC I need to use my paypal account. So I decided to go to paypals site (which I never use either, but have been registered with for yearsssss) then realized I had an old CC# on file so I updated it with them. What I didn't realize is that I had old bank acct information on it too. So... basically when I went to "checkout" I still didn't notice the old bank information there (I blame it on me being all excited on making my first purchase on ebay hah!) so the transaction went through!!!

EEK! What do I do now?! That checking account is still open in my name, but has a $0 balance :( and the charge was for $22. I could just run by and make a deposit right? oh except that THE BANK IS IN TEXAS AND I MOVED TO WASHINGTON! argh :(

Any ideas? I feel terrible about this I just don't know how to fix it!

Email the seller right away and tell them what the situation is....communication with them is key until you can get Paypal to update everything.

If I'm not mistaken, I THINK you can cancel the transaction, depending on when you made it. I would certainly try. Did you give Paypal your new bank information yet? You need to do this immediately, and please contact the seller of the item and tell them your problem. Sellers normally would like to keep you as a customer and are pretty understanding. Well, I know I am anyway, lol!

I'm sure the seller would be understanding if you just explain the situation.

Good luck.

Why can't you just do an electronic fund transfer from one bank to another? Or send the old bank a deposit by overnight mail with a registered return receipt? Or call the old bank, explain the situation and see if they will do a wire transfer from your account at the new bank.

Hope this helps.

Definitely contact the seller. Most will understand, if not then offer another form of payment such as a check. Good luck. I am sure this will be fine. I sell things on my auction site and would understand the situation, so I don't think there is anything to worry about. Communication is key.
