Isnt that the most classic question for kids? "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I remember saying I wanted to be a doctor. A doctor? Are you kidding me? I can't stand the sight of blood! I will and do pass out!
Are you doing what you dreamed you would be doing for a living?

When I was little I wanted to do something in the medical field so that I could help people. And although I am not doing that currently, I was going to school for that.. up until I had my son :) And now, I don't really want to go back to work outside of home until he is school age. So we will see.

LOL... I wanted to be a mom with six kids!
I have one teenage son and have an adopted daughter who came to live with us when she was 18. I would love to say I fit the fabulous, super mom role, but I don't. I am a free-sprited, passionate, creative whirlwind. And the day I realized that I am the perfect mom for my ONE artsy son was the day I relaxed and things stopped being so hard.
As for the rest of my life: yes, I am doing what I love. I am helping people in life-changing ways by believing in them more than they sometimes believe in themselves and I am believing in my own self by taking my acting dreams seriously. If you had asked me two years ago - in the aftermath of my divorce - if I would be in commercials and having the time of my life, I would have grimaced for sure.
It's amazing the difference a day, a week, a month, a year can make!
Great question...
Blessings,
Lara

When I was a kid I wanted to be a doctor and awife/mother to ten kids....lol. kids have silly dreams. I did get a job in healthcare...although I found the cost of school to be a doctor was way out of my budget. And I currently have no kids and am in no rush. I have so much I want to do first. I want to be able to focus all my time on my kids when I have them. But there is no such thing as the perfect time right! I doubt I will be having ten though....maybe one or two at the most.

God Forbid .... I wanted to be a NUN ...
Thankfully, I changed my mind when I got to 13 and have two wonderful sons and four grandchildren instead of the HABIT :)

Funnily enough I wanted to be a nun too - no doubt the Catholic upbringing by my Irish mum. BUT I didn't ..... instead I became a teacher, a bookeeper, a secretary, a fashion co-ordinator, a personnel manager.....and more and now this. Variety is the spice of life!

We may have met in a convent and not in a forum ... Yes life is full of variety. How lucky are we?

<grin> When I was a kid I dreamed of a huge farm, white picket fence, lots of animals, kids, etc. And now? I don't want to grow up, I'll accept growing older and I still want a huge farm, white picket fence, lots of animals, kids around, etc.!!! I'm not growing older, I'm growing bolder! I'm not growing old, I'm growing into the person I want to be!

An astronaut... because I thought it would be cool to go to the moon. Then a Sports Doctor (in my teenage years)... because I wanted to be around hot football players.
Right now I'm in Network Marketing but in Cosmetology school. It makes a good living but I don't know if I'll do it for the rest of my life. I'm still young though :p

It's interesting how many of us wanted to do something in the medical field. Including me, I wanted to be a nurse. I can't even watch when I get a needle so that career choice never happened. My next choice was to be happily married with 3 kids. Well I got 2 kids and I am very happy. :)

Always wanted to write too. Can't seem to get that going but I can write poetry, though I don't know what to do with it.

I wanted to be a guitar player. Now I am a full time mom and part time Tupperware consultant. Way off, but more fun I think. Kids keep us young at heart.

well, when i was still in elementary, i dreamed of becoming a veterinarian maybe because i love pets, but when i reached the age of 18 i've learned that fixing cars is what really makes me happy, sadly though i graduated from that course i wasn't able to do such things, now i'm already married and at the same time a mother, all i want to become is a better person for my husband and my daughter. i want to become a good role model for her.
