If you offer payment plans to your customers, would you mind sharing what yours is like?

Thanks!

Oh, I'm glad you asked this question! I have been wondering the same thing. I haven't been offering anyone a payment plan because 1) I don't know how to do it and 2) I don't want to get only partial payment and be out of the product and half the money

I have told clients I will take postdated checks but that I won't deliver product until the date of the check.
I have also told them that I will take part check, part credit card, and/or part cash...whatever they need to do.

So far though, I haven't run into anyone actually NEEDING to do a payment plan. But I will do it, if that is the only thing stopping someone from purchasing! I also suggest they host a spa escape so they can earn what they want for less or for free.

Good point Jennifer! I do have a client who needs a payment plan. She lives a couple of hours south of me. I tell her that I will send half the product with each check. Her history has been bouncing checks, so I always cash it first to make sure it clears. It is a shame when you have to do that, but sometimes it is necessary!

Also remember to get at least half of their payment up front. That way you don't lose out too much. Then get a postdated check for the other half. But make sure its from someone you trust. Also, use your instincts on people. There are always some that will take full advantage of you, but most people are honest.

I would probably do it on a case by case basis. If it is a good friend or family member, I would work with them if they needed to do a postdated check, etc.

I just make sure they know my payment options - cash, check, and credit cards. Usually they can find a way with those three options. Good luck!
