I know that there are many candlemakers that use electric roasters to melt their wax in. I first saw it on a HGTV show and was curious. My question is Electric Roasters are NOT the same as a crock pot because of the temperature control, correct? Hoping someone can help me with this. Also wondering if a crock pot would work with soy wax as it has a lower MP? Thanks much!

Hi! I would think it would take a long time to melt the wax in a crock pot. I use a Presto Deep Fryer that I got at Wal-mart for like 20 bucks. It has a tempreture setting and is good for melting both paraffin and soy.

Thanks for that info. That is what I was thinking. I know wax has to be at a certain temperature for pouring, scenting, coloring etc. I'll check out the deep fryers! Thanks again!
