Ijust wanted to share my experience for the day. On Monday night I had went up to the community center across the street from where I live. They have a bulletin board so I pined a med clear plastic bag, with a label that said “Take One” on to the board. I then put about 6 brochures with scent samples staple to the front them in the bag.

Today my friend was over with her roommate. The roommates’ boyfriend called to ask her what my last name was, he had picked up a scent sample and wanted to know if it was mine. (I’m the only Cinnamon in town, lol) He loved the sample!

So she bought him a Sweet Orange & Chile Pepper jar candle (that was the scent sample he grabbed) and she got a Cucumber and Mellon jar candle.I sold them for $20 a jar, that included tax & shipping.

So my point is go get your samples out there, they really work!!

I know what you mean about the scent samples working! I have started putting them in little baskets with my business cards or brochures attached and it has really worked! I think I need to go do that as soon as my dang candles come in so that I can make more! That might be one of my goals next week, making up scent samples and putting them and the brochures all over town on all the free buletin boards I can find. Thanks for reminding me of the idea! I think I also might leave some in my orthodontists office "accidentally" in a magazine or something.smileys/smiley36.gif

You can also do this with convenience stores and retail stores, thrift stores, etc.Ask the Manager if you can put a basket at the register with free samples in it. Offer her/him a free votive and holder.

Now, a word of caution. DON'T use brochures for this, they will be gone quick! I use business cards and 2 x 2 scent baggies. Business cards are more economical for this situation. I put a sticker thats said, FREE SAMPLE!

I had a conv. store that I put out a lot in. I don't put as much there anymore. Those people took handfuls! SOOOO a word of caution, pick your store carefully.smileys/smiley36.gif

Just FYI on this store..it was by a couple of factories, had a lunch counter, majority were low income. I am NOT saying this is bad, but this is the demographics for this store.

Another store I have is a big truckstop with a Wendys and Baskin Robbins in it. HUGE traveler stop. This one is better..they normally only take one.

Same with my flea market booth. I have a big basket of free samples with business cards, then I have brochures set along side of it as well as an informational letter. This is a good place and have received many calls and sales.

I've got to try this onethis comingweekend! I had my brochures and business cards out, but didn't do the attached scent samples with them. I will this time though in a special "free scent sample" basket! smileys/smiley17.gif
