I JUST did the sim. I mean literally, I finished and logged out and LESS THAN 2 minutes later, I received the email to read my review. I am not pleased.

I followed the "tips" at the top, and specifically did exactly what was instructed, and my reviewer still said I could have done better (like on the "what is your name" and "Horoscope" questions. I thought those were pretty straightforward, and yet... WHAT?

I also got that on the Song lyrics questions... I did exactly what I was supposed to, using the resource that the sim told me to use. I cut the lyrics off at a spot that made sense (ie, at the end of a line instead of cutting it off mid-sentence) and asked "more?" on both and pasted the remainder in the notes... So Im not exactly sure what else I could have done better.

It also said I needed to use proper sources. I looked at every answer and I DID use proper sources from kgb's recommended sources on every question that required them. Every single one of them.

I feel like whoever reviewed me didn't really take the time to actually review my work and now I am afraid of not getting accepted because of it.

We do these so many times a day we know exactly what to look for.

For the horoscopes, it has to come from the Google Doc that kgb_ uses. That might have been the problem.

What is your name... we look to see if you use kgb.com as the source, if you use "we" vs. "I" and it makes sense. Don't give any personal information. It's about kgb and our company, not about you.

Song lyrics need to go as close to 160 characters before more? is sent.

Sources need to be the exact place you found what you are using in your answer, not the homepage of the site (i.e. imdb.com)

Like I said in my first post.. I used what the tips at the top of the Simulator said.

The Horoscope DID come from the google doc.

I did not give personal information. I did not give my name. I used a "we are kgb_ " answer and used kgb — Welcome! (http://www.kgb.com) as the source.

I used the exact link of each source. It was copied by the firefox addon and I checked them all.

And again, the lyrics went as close to 160 without cutting off in a stupid spot and still allowing room for the "More?".

I'm guessing there is a bit of skimming and not actual reading going on. Not really fair to us.

Then email your op, don't complain on here. There is nothing we can do on this forum.

I don't recall asking you or anyone else to do anything, and I already have both sent off an email and responded to my review. Am I not allowed to connect with other users about similar situations?

wow. it's getting hot in here. lol. you should email your mentor to be sure that there wasn't a mistake. Sometimes people make mistakes. I have been told one thing by a QA and another by my mentor. So who knows.... But again, if you feel as if you did the right thing then, be patient. Sometimes it takes a while for kgb_ to respond to emails. It can take from a day to a week to get a response. sorry for the issue you were having :)

Apparently getting a response you don't want upset you. I just tried to explain what "could have" happened since I see these every day. I was trying to be helpful, and if you can't even read what Quality Agents see in general, then the feedback you receive on any review batch you get won't help you at all. kgb is really cutting down on those who do not meet their standards, Taking constructive criticism is a HUGE part of this job and you must improve with every batch (set of 20), or you're out.

I may not have had the same experience, but there was no reason to get an attitude with me. We are far more experienced at this, and though you might think you did perfectly, there may have been things you missed, Take the advice from your mentor and improve.

I also don't recall stating I did perfectly. What posts from me are you reading, because I cannot see anywhere that I thought I did perfect. I am new, obviously I am not going to straight shot my first Sim at 100% amazingly perfect.

What I WAS commenting on, was out of the ones I DID get dinged on, some of them made absolutely NO sense at all - such as getting dinged for not using the google doc for the horoscope when I did, running the Lyrics as close to the limit as I could without cutting off in the middle of a word and adding the rest in the comments.

I didn't even get dinged on the few where I answered them completely by myself. It was everything that had a specific instruction such as dismissing or using the google doc, or where the SIM told me to click on the recycle for the answer. It just made absolutely no sense to me at all.

Not quite sure where I got an attitude with you, I am just frustrated. Is there a reason you're taking it personally?

My reviews on the simulator the first time weren't great either. Actually I don't think anyones were... its our first time and we just have to get the hang of the system of things.

As far as the horoscope is concerned, of course you said you used Google Docs. Remember to add the "ACE" at the end. Like if it says that someones day is going to be horrible... tell them to look at the bright side of things that day and Text us 24/7... etc. Or add on "The horoscope for (THEIR SIGN) on (THE DATE) is (WHAT IT SAYS). KGB is available 24/7 for your daily horoscope!"

I got the same response for the Song Lyrics section. It doesn't matter if the 160 characters (w/ More?) ends in mid-sentence of the song/poem/recipe. You should use up as close to 160 as possible, regardless. I got that wrong too!:rolleyes: You're not alone at all. Now even if I do a recipe and 160 characters ends at "1 cup of ...More?", thats the correct way to do it. So feel free to cut off in "a stupid spot". LOL! :D

I know it seems like redundancy but check your url to make sure the link doesn't take you JUST to the homepage of the document. Also some webpages are NOT acceptable like wikipedia, yahooanswers, answers.com, any blog sites or any opinion sites, so make sure that the site you go to is a legit site. Even if it offers wikipedia as a reliable source (its NOT... I learned that also).

Also when absolutely unsure... recycle the answer or seek an op through "request help" even if the simulator says "for the simulator we will press dismiss and go to the next question, blah blah blah!" press request help.

The second time around I did it their way, instead of my way which I thought made way more sense! I passed with flying colors. You will too!

FYI: From a QA perspective, those horoscopes are pre-written to fill the 102 character limit or close to it and we usually don't have room to add in stuff like have a good day or whatever because it will take it over the limit.

As far as pressing the request help from the OP in the simulator, if it tells you to dismiss the question in the tips at the top of the page that's what you are supposed to do because the Ops will never see the help request as it is not live.

I hope this helps to clear things up for you guys. :)

Thats what I did.. I was so confused, lol.
On the other hand, when I re-did my sim, I did the exact same thing I did the first time (per the sim helpy tips.. again) and got rave reviews. So go figure... I also nailed my shadowing and now I'm an agent, so I guess I did okay after the first oh so confusing bump.
