Hey everyone,

I am really curious...does your company have "seasons" that do better than others?

Of course, right before Christmas is great for everyone, but what about Summertime? Winter? Spring?

I was having a conversation about "seasons" with a consultant from another company and it seems like we are identical...

I guess this is justmy ownwahm.com party plan....scientific study.

I think that the Fall season is the busiest time of year for Taste Of Home-
types of businesses. One of the really great things aboutTaste Of Home
Entertaining is that the company recognizes that there are also SLOWER
months, and they reduce our volume requirements by 20% to compensate
for the three slowest months (traditionally) of June, July, and December...

It all depends on how you work your biz!

I used to think Fall was the busiest season, the I sold more in January this year then I did in Oct and Nov. So, what I will tell you:

Fall IS the busiest season for us BECAUSE that is when consultants get motivated to work their business because they FEEL that Fall is the busiest! So in some ways it is!

Personally, for me, I have my own personal cycles. Feb tends to be my slack month, but I doubled what my goal was this year. So much for slacking!

There are always people who need what we have. January for us represents a great sale, everyone loves a clearance! January/February is a great time to follow-up with previous customers and see what needs you can fullfill during the year.

Feb is how you work it. But for me a great month for babies and birthdays, and exposure events.

March is new products and warmer weather! Everyone is beginning to get out of the house. High school sports are between seasons.

April is spring and everyone wants to play, no matter what biz!

May is beginning to think about summer! Got to be prepared!

June is relaxing for the right audience. School is out and parents want to get away from kids. Great time for themed Ice cream social and Maragarita parties!

July represents convention for many, and an added boost of energy! Fairs and summer exposure events make it a great time to follow up on leads!

August is back to school. Plus, if you worked July right, you have spill over and leads to follow up with!

September is early holiday shoppers!

And then of course the "busy season!" Oct, Nov & Dec.

If you work your biz right, each month will spill into the next. What you do right now will affect your biz 3 months from now.

So if you work March, you will have a strong June! Plan ahead, and be consistant, and though you will see cycles, they won't affect you as much,

Deb, I love your calendar! I'm right there with you on February, too. I find it to probably be my slowest month, along with July. I believe that it's always a good time to party - so I just try to consistently book my parties, talk to people and keep up with my customers. Of course, during the slower months, it's a great time to work on building your team!

For me with candles, fall and Christmas are definitely busiest, but I also do well in the spring because we have many outdoor type things too. But it really DOES depend on what you do to keep business moving. I had a GREAT July and August last year simply because I offered a "super summer club" for my hosts during the summer. It worked like a charm! So, while you're never going to have perfectly consistant sales, you can increase your business in the "slow months" so they aren't so slow.

Every season is a good season for romance enhancement products but of course before Valentine's Day is the biggest rush. I agree with Deb, its all in how you work your biz!

With Watkins and the Jerky, I feel they are year round also as everyone cooks and cleans year round and who doesnt like jerky anytime of the year?

But I know when I was with a decor company summer months were very slow as no one spent enough time thinking about indoor decor, they were wanting to be outside and on vacation.
