View Full Version : Question About LiveOps and Odesk

Hi everyone, I'm constantly on the lookout for ways to make money, and I just wondered what ya'll thought about these two companies. I thought LiveOps sounded great until I read some stuff on the RipOff report that made me wonder if it was a good company or not. Also, I've read some posts on here that praise Odesk, and some that say there's no work to be had on there...Anybody got any recent personal experiences they'd like to share? Is LiveOps more telemarketing than it is customer service?

Thanks for you help!

I use to work for LiveOps but that was over a year ago. They were good then but I don't know about now.

I use oDesk and have 3 repeat clients who are high rollers (big projects for good money) but it is hit and miss on there.

I do not have any experience with Live ops, but I have been on Odesk for several months and have two projects that I am very happy with. One of them just ended, she may contact me to do further work. I enjoy it as I use it for filler work, experience and meeting new contacts. I have poked around on the Elance and Guru but really like Odesk the best. Overall it's finding what works for you.

I just signed up on Elance a couple of days ago and have taken 4 of their tests and gotten passing scores. I put in my first bid yesterday on a post but got declined because my bid was too high. I would be interested to know how many have success with them.

It's good to have some feedback on these popular companies.
Here's to wishing everyone here positive experiences with all of them.

Cheers,

Annie

I have only signed up with oDesk so far...I think there is potential but I feel that you have to be on top of the new job postings and apply, apply, apply... I have only been on oDesk for a week...I have had a few "interviews." I am waiting to hear back on a virtual assistant position right now. I am really anxious about it. In the meantime still looking and hoping. I do agree that there is a lot more on oDesk that is left to be desired...very low paying jobs are aplenty on there. I basically do a search every hour...
It just depends on your persistance...and patience. :)

You can also do a google search for both companies. Searches can bring up a wealth of information.

So, with LiveOps, is it more like a sales position, or more like customer service?...some of the stuff I read online said that you had to sell timeshares or something like that...

On odesk you really need to check ALL the new open jobs at least once a day. The categories and keywords leave out a lot of good jobs. Also, I'm partial to the fixed rate jobs. Those seem to pay better than the hourly jobs.
