Hello everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself, as I am new both to this board, and to BeautiControl. My name is Mistie and I am (was) a sahm and I have 5 kids (ages 11, 8, 2 and 9 month old twins) and we live in Green Bay, WI. I have been married to my dh for going on 4 years (my older two kids are from my exhusband).

I was first introduced to BeautiControl by my sister in law who lives in Michigan. When she first told me that she does "in home spas" I thought she was nuts. I couldn't really fathom what she was actually doing. I went to visit one summer and she had me try some of the products and she evan had me come to one of her spas. I honestly could not believe how fabulous it was! I instantly fell in love with the products, and I got to watch first hand a room of women fall in love with the products as well.

It took me almost 2 years to talk my husband into letting me join BeautiControl, as he thought it would just be a waste of money. Truthfully, he isn't all that supportive of me doing this, and I really want to prove to him that I CAN succeed even if he does not help me!

I am really glad to have found this board so I can communicate with other women that know how the business is run and get excited about the same things I get excited about!

I am thrilled about the new March (and my director said April too) promotion of $99 plus the trip to San Francisco if you recruit 12 people by the end of April! I have not recruited anyone yet, and I really haven't had many spas, but I am hoping that with a $99 joining fee, people will see exactly how sweet this deal is and decide to book spas for me and ultimately JOIN!

Any pointers that you can give would be great! I am not a very outgoing person and I am afraid of rejection (I'm in the wrong business, huh?) smileys/smiley36.gif I would like to know some good ways to break the ice and approach people!

Thanks for any advice! Looking forward to meeting you ladies!

Hi Mistie!!

Welcome to the board! and on board. LOL I am probably not the best one on here for advice. I have only had a few spas myself, but I love the procucts. So eventually, I hope to make others fall in love too. Some ideas are drop boxes at salons (nails, hair, and tanning). Also, some of my best luck has been just handing out our product guides at offices and places I shop. I have actually had a couple of orders from that. Good luck and your not alone on getting your husband to believe, but first believe you can do it, see yourself doing it and go out and do it. The worst thing people say is no or no I am not intereted. Just thank them anyway and move on.

You have a busy household like me, I have a 19, 7,6 and 2 year old. Thanks for joinning us.

Welcome! Look at the post about our conference call for this board! You are most welcome to join us on either Monday night or Tuesday afternoon. PM me for the number and code. This is not to take away from unit meetings, but to support and encourage all on this board. I have to say, our first conference call went way over the time planned!

I grew up in Racine, WI.It is a few hours south of you. I no longer live in WI, but get a chance to visit whenever I can!

We look forward to getting to know you better in the coming months!

Jennifer,

Wonderful news about your spa party! Way to Go!

My husband is very supportive and sees the big picture. Sometimes though he forgets the little one, like what days my spa parties are!

Hope to hear you on the conference call!

Mistie,

I was very shy and was afraid to approach people when I first started. One way I overcome my fear at the Spas was to sit and not stand during my presentation.

I find after each Spa, I get a bit more confident and I believe in our products and want this oppurtunity SO BAD that I make myself go outside of my comfort zone. The worse that can happen is they say "NO".

I started out sending an e-mail to everyone I knew, and let them know what I was doing, then I began handing out samples of bath minerals with my business card, or making a cute flyer with what I do and theme spa ideas to hand out to people. I give them to our waitresses, cashiers, other Moms at pre-school, or basketball practice, ect,

YOu can also look for Health Fairs in your area, to set up a booth. They are normally free or $25-50 to get a booth and they will give you great contacts for future parties.

Good luck,

I hope you will join our conference call! Let us know if you need more advice.

P.S. Sit down and make several list

1) classmates

2) family

3 friends

4) present or past co-workers

5) neighbors/Church Members

6) business proffessionals- Doctors, Dentists ect.ect. for Office Spas

7) people you meet through childrens activites- sports, mommy play groups, 4-H, ect.ect.

brainstorm who to put down on your list and you will have a great list of people to ask to be a hostess or prospects for our oppurtunity.

Good luck! We are here if you need us!
