If you can use Adobe's Dreamweaver CS4. I would say it's the best web designing software out there.

Hi, I second Dreamweaver and also Photoshop - it's great for creating the initial look of your website.

What type of website are you planning to build?

Teresa :)

I used to use frontpage but since discovering wordpress (tm) and how versatile it is, there is really no point in using something like frontpage anymore. Plus I think they're discontinuing frontpage anyway. (Not sure if that is right not not).

Some people will disagree, but IMO you can pretty much do everything with Wordpress(tm), so with few exceptions, I would try that before spending a dime on anything else. Wordpress(tm) is free and very, very customizable.

Hi Teresa,

I am working on a employment board for IL job seekers. I just need one page where I can imput jobs, add google banners etc and one page that connects to the job board or contains the job listings from Indeed, plus add my google banners.

Right now I am using Wordpress, they do offer tons of plugins, I am a novice when it comes to web design. I just signed up for a basic 'how to create a webpage class" which should give me a basic understanding of the field for what I am trying to do. I only plan on using what I learn for my own personal use.

As a beginner Dreamweaver will be really difficult to do although it is an awesome program.

Same with FrontPage.

One thing I find is that many WYSIWYG editors just aren't really WYSIWYG editors, you often have to have a little understanding of HTML or other code to fix issues that come up.

I believe wordpress can do what you want, you can always adapt plug ins to do what you want them to do rather than what they say they do. For instance "Business Directory" could easily be a job listing instead.

To put in google ads you can easily and do all that you want. I wish you the best in your endeavors. You might want to sign up for a wordpress class if you can find it online.

Thankyou for your help. I am a novice so Dreamweaver would probably be difficult for me. I still might look into purchasing it in the future. I signed up for class on website building just to gain some basic knowlege of HTML and all those computer terms. I also found a site that has FREE wordpress tutiorials, which I didn't even think of. I am looking into a business directory and really only need two pages. One or home page can have the business directory which I can put the jobs, I want to add google banners, and then I need to be able to link or have a page where I can add a indeed job feed. Should be pretty simple once I learn a little more about wordpress. Thanks a lot I will keep you posted on my progress.
