Today I made my first soy container candle, cherry scented. It looks great! How long do I have to let it cure before I can light it? I'm itching to try it and see how it burns.

Depends on the blend of soy, if it is 100% soy with no mixture the manufactures say 2 weeks for full cure! I know I would not be able to wait that long. Good luck hope it smells GREAT....

I let mine cure 48 hours. Sometimes, I just can't wait and I burn it anyways.

Okay, I burned it this evening. I think I should have let it cure longer.


It has a few wetspots, and it's burning right down the middle. I checked candlecauldron.com to see if I used too large of a wick, and according to them, it's not the wick size, I may need to use an additive. smileys/smiley6.gifLesson learned.

Hi, New to this site, never posted before just been reading, but saw your post on soy candle. I have been making soy candles for awhile now and from what I have learned you do not need to use an additive, soy wax is such that no additives are needed. Thought I would let you know so as not to waste your money. I agree you need to wait about 48 to 72 hours before burningsmileys/smiley17.gif
