I have been with Silpada for six months and am loving it. This is my first time in direct sales and I have learned so much. I have had some awesome shows and also terrible shows but that's par of the course. I also have two potential recruitssmileys/smiley32.gif. My sales are very good and I actually have a few repeat customers. Now I have one thing that I am struggling with. Booking shows at shows. I can't seem to get the hang of nailing a date with potential hosts.

Direct sales is hard work but very rewarding.

Check out our 42 new pieces and give me you feedback on how I can use this as a tool to get more bookings. www.mysilpada.com/annmarie.mccarthy (http://www.mysilpada.com/annmarie.mccarthy).

Congrats on your success with Silpada, Ann Marie!

Have you thought of offering a small gift for guests who book a date at your
show? Tell them that when they set a date for their party this evening, they
will get "X" as a bonus free gift on the day of their party.

This way, they not only have to book with you that evening, but must carry
through with their committment to host a party in order to get a gift.

Hi Ann Marie! I am also with Silpada but not quiteas long as you. It's a great company to work for!

Have you listened to any of the weekly conference calls. Mondays are designated for bookings. I have gotten a lot of great ideas. Do you use your open dates sheet? Do you ask EVERYONE if they would like to book? At my last party I put out a small frame with my past 5 Hostesses first name, how much free jewelry she got and how much I made and put it right next to the mirror. People noticed and it was a great conversation starter about hosting their own party. I got a couple bookings from that!

Someone else suggested putting a basket out with various things and a little sign that said "Book a Party Pick a Prize". I think I might try this for my next party but I can't decide what to put in the baskets. Any ideas? I was also thinking about putting a star on the bottom of one of the prizes and that person would get a $25 GC to spend at their party.

One more idea is to have a referral program. I will give a $25 GC if someone refers someone and they book a party. They get to redeem it at their friends party. Ane $100 for refering a new recruit. You have to decide if it is worth the money!

Sorry I am rambling. I would definitely listen in on the conference calls. They are very informative!

You can PM me and I will give you my email address to chat later. It's nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of!

Congrats on 6 months - that is awesome -

When I do parties - I sometimes bring balloons with a gift or a discount inside - so when they book - they get to pick a ballon to pop - that's been kind of fun

I've also done envelopes - they pick one - or just put a note under the chair of everyone - and whatever is under their chair is what they get when they book a confirmed show that night -

Just a couple thoughts -

Best of luck on your continuing success and your right - direct sales does take some work - but it is SOOOOO worth it smileys/smiley32.gif

Good luck also going into leadership - that has been the absolute favorite part for me - I LOVE my team - they are awesome folks and they help me keep going if I have a down day:)

Meg - I love your balloon idea! How fun!

Anne Marie - just remember to gently mention booking parties here and there throughout your shows. And when people check out - offer them the chance to book, "Have you thought about having your own party"? If they say they'll think about it, ask them if you can put them on your contact list, and that way you will have people already interested in parties when you need to fill some dates. Good luck, and congrats on your 6 months!
