I need some help with rates? I am thinking about providing child care in my home. But not really sure what to charge. Can someone take a peek at these rates and see which one seems best fit for providing reasonable rates but still making it worth my time. Especially since I will be providing food and juices ....

Infants/Un Potty Trained: $100/Wk All other ages: $95
Infants/un potty trained: $95/Wk All other ages: $90
Infants/un potty trained: $90/Wk All other ages: $85
Infants/un potty trained: $85/Wk All other ages: $80

Or maybe $100 for infants and $80 all others?
or $90 infants and $80 all others?

No clue just some ideas. Which shoulds like it would be the best all around??

I will be providing Breakfast, lunch, snacks and juices. As well as any supplies for crafts and things we do together.

Also I was thinking for before/after school care I would charge $11/Day for 1 child or $17.50/Day for someone with two for before/after school child care? Does that sound fair, to much, enough?

Rhonda,

It all really depends on what area your are from. That would help us to give you some ideas for those that are within the same area. For my area your rates are low as the average in Dayton Ohio area is

$135 a week full-time (20-50hrs) a week 0-3 years
$125 a week full-time (20-50hrs) a week over 3 potty trained

Yes it definately depends on your area, Call some other providers in your area to get an idea of what the going rate is. Those rates seem extremely low to me but then again they may be normal for where you are located. You just don't want to short yourself.

Also, usually when you get the license to become a child care operator, you will be open to some resources to help you with the prices. You might even be able to get free forms, contracts and training.

Hi!

Personally I would set a $100 / week for all children. If you don't get any offers, then maybe lower it. I don't run a daycare, but if I were to send my child to one I would probably want one that charged more b/c I would feel that she would do a better job if she were earning more. I don't think that $100 a week is too much. I might even charge more. Just my 2 cents.
