Hey! I know we have several jewelry company reps here so I thought I'd seek a little help. I have my first party tomorrow night and I'm wondering if any of you ladies have any jewelry centered games? I have a couple generic games like the "what's in your purse" and "how well do you know your hostess" but I'd like to do one or two that are focused on the jewelry. Any tips would be appreciated!!! Thanks in advance jewelry divas!!

I have done one where the guest takes a piece of paper and writes down
all the birthstones for each month as fast as they can. Set a time
limit, when time is up you see who has the most correct answers by
reading off the birthstones for each month. Obviously, there could be a
tie, so make a consideration for that. It's fun, fast and and
informative!
I found that not many people know all 12 months, mostly their own
and maybe their immediate family. It's really fun! I always tell
them they can't think aloud, or talk to their neighbor (you know how
chatty women can be) I only give them about a a minute or 2, they have
to think and write fast!

Ellen, what types of games do they like to play? I'd love for you to share!!! I'm confused now, LOL You mean they don't like to play games about the product you are offering them? Maybe I'm on the wrong track wanting to play product centered games? Oh, it hurts to be blonde sometimes, LOL

I understand what Ellen is saying...I don't like games when I go to a home party...I find most people feel the same way. (my experience anyway).

AHHH ok. I have people loving the games. They always want chances to win stuff and it gets them all laughing and interacting with each other. I don't know what I'd do without games to do at a party, guess I'd go home alot quicker, LOL

When I book my shows, my potential hostess always asks..."you don't play any silly games do you?" I say "no" and they book! Go figure??!!
I used to do the envelope game and the chocolate game with no results. I have learned that I get more bookings and sales by just having a good time and a VERY short opener. LOL!!smileys/smiley36.gif

I would LOVE to do my parties that way!!!!!!! But around here, people like trying to get free stuff. They get agitated when you don't give something away. I've seen it too many times. When I was with Petra I had people calling to REQUEST certain games, LOL. Just goes to prove different areas go for different things. But rock on with you no game having gals!!!! I'd love for it to be that way here.
But since it's not, lol, I'm still looking for some game ideas. Thanks to everyone who's helped so far, keep em coming!!!

You can do "ring bingo", people like that one. Have the guests draw their hand and put their 5 favorite rings on (one on each finger) Have them mark off the ones you say aloud. If you notice someone gets excited when you call off a ring (if you have that one in your collection) have her put it on for the remainder of the game! <9 times out of 10- they buy the ring> I have many many more in my file cabinet. PM me if you need to and I'll rattle off a few! Good luck!

That sounds like a FUN game!! Thanks so much! Now I have to save up some money to buy about 50 rings!! My goodness, what would I do if I had a show with 15 or 20 people there??
Or do you make up some sort of paper ring for them so you don't have to have every ring in the book?
Thanks again and excuse my blondeness in the question, LOL!!

I only play the game if the hostess wants to. I actually prefer to not
play games. In my company there is no formal presentation so we get to
chat, shop, eat and drink!smileys/smiley36.gif

I never play games at my home shows. I don't even do a presentation! My hostesses LOVE IT! I do a 2 minute mini commercial and then we have fun playing dress up! We we are trying the jewelry on that is when I talk about the jewelry, where it's from, how to layer it, etc... My customers love it that they come and go as they please and no presentations.

Well that's wonderful! But my people here expect a short presentation and more than anything, the chance to get to win something. Latasia has jewelry that we can buy at a huge discount for giveaways and I think that will help with sales down the road. Everyone purchased at my party Friday night but if someone hadn't had the money to buy something and had won a piece they would have always remembered Latasia and if they loved it they will think of me everytime they wear it and probably call later down the road when they can afford to get some things. Plus, games kind of put me at ease as well.
I've had a couple parties in the past with Petra where only a couple people showed up and the easiest thing to do would be to just talk about the stuff for a bit and take orders and go home, but they wanted to play!! So we did a couple games, they won a couple little simple prizes and then they were in a good mood and spent alot of money.
But that's the way it is HERE in the boonies of Louisiana. If I have to play games to get everyone active and in a good mood, give a way a couple prizes to make a couple hundren bucks, then I'm all for games, LOL. If I saw that people weren't expecting them and not acting disappointed when they think I'm not playing games I wouldn't do them either. The first thing half the people said Friday night was, what games are we playing? But Petra's games were so funny and goofy they are spoiled now, lol.
Anyway, thanks for the input from everyone. If anybody has some games they'd like to share, please do, I'm all ears.
Edited for a silly spelling mistake. There are probably some goofy mistakes left but I thought I'd just get the silly one out of the post :-)Edited by: IamBlessed
