Waiting for Wednesday to join Usborne, wish payday would have been sooner, but guess its close enough, lol. Could you all please give me some ideas on what I could do to learn more about this business while I'm waiting to join. Are there any message boards that help you in this business? Which ways do you use to promote your business? Sorry for the late post but have a feeling I will be up until I can join Wed, lol.

Well- most of the training and message boards I find most helpful are consultant only....but in a few days I know you will be able to dive in!
While you are waiting to join- I would start making a list, and then calling people you think would like to host a show for you- or- join you! There are some fantastic promotions going on right now that Cheryl can fill you in on....so you are certainly joining at a perfect time!
Also- just going through the consultants websites is a great way to start to familiarize yourself with some of the amazing books we carry. (or- if she sent you a catalog- I would start there)
Exciting stuff!!! :)

Congrats!!!
Also, ask your sponsor if she has any documents she can send you to help you prepare. Begin a notebook of places and people you want to contact.
Once you sign up, ask your sponsor to train you ASAP. ;-)
You are going to love Usborne!

Soo excited. Feel like a loony woman. Just remembered our neighbor Mrs. Dana, a family friend of ours teaches at a elementary school. Will definitely be chatting with her alot on this. She's a great way for me to get my foot in the door at schools, has tons of friends that would like to lean more about the books, and could work with her to do a fundraiser later on. Business is going to be great. Can't wait to get started, lol.smileys/smiley36.gif

You will want to make sure then that you get the EC (educational consultant) kit- which will allow you to work with schools and libraries.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Hello! I'm in the process of deciding to join...and its looking very good! lol
I've been reading the threads and I noticed this...what is the EC kit and where is it listed? All I see is the Starter Kit and the Business Base Kit.
Thanks for all the info!! I'm really looking forward to this!

The EC kit is also available in the supply store as well- so if you don't (or didn't) order it when you signed up, you can do it at any time :)

If money is tight, don't worry about getting the EC kit. You can get it at anytime, when you place your first order even, or down the line. It's just if you want to jump into schools and libraries. But you can still work with daycares and preschools and be OK. :-)
Best of luck in your decision! It's a ton of fun. :-)

Today is payday? I couldn't tell if I'm offering advice before then or not :)
I would:
*Jump on someone's website and become familiar with the different kits and books! See all there is and read about them, so you have great conversation material when talking with others about Usborne.
*Get as much info and materials from my upline.
*Go ahead and start planning a book party... who are you going to invite, when will it be, what you want everyone to know, etc.
*Think about all the ways you can market, and make a list: advertise on your car, carry around a tote, tell your friends, business cards, brochures, advertise on bulletin boards, get the word out at church, school, neighbors, .....
*Start your schedule: I will work from 9am - 10am phone calls, 11am to 12pm advertising, etc.
There is so much to do before the kit even arrives! Welcome aboard!
