I don't personally make the candles on my website. I have a friend in Michigan who does it as her full-time job and I buy them wholesale from her and I am going to start selling at my trade show/flea market. Can you experienced candle makers take a look around my website and let me know if the prices I'm asking seem reasonable? Most the candles are customizable with scents, wax color, and wax embeds. Most of my prices work out to be about 5 - 10 cents per burn hour. Visit my link below and click "Big Cherry's Candles." I'd appreciate any feedback. Edited by: kidz_n_fashion

I really like the gel candles on your site. They look great!
Now, I don't know pricing for gel candles, but I know pricing for soy. It is recommended across the industry to charge$1.50-$2.00 per ounce. So, an 8oz candle would cost $12.00-$16.00, depending on the container.
One thing I noticed is your labeling. I believe we are required by law to put the total ounce on the jar. You can attach it with a hanging label, or with a sticker on the jar. Also, be sure to have your caution labels affixed to bottom of your containers.
Good luck!

Thank you for the info. When you say "we are required to have total ounces"....we are required by whom?
My girlfriend makes these so I will be sure to pass the info along to her. They do have the caution labels on them.

I saw the label debate here:

Apparently there is some disagreement as to what is required on candle labels. But, I think it is better to be safe than sorry! smileys/smiley1.gif

You may have already resolved this but I would put the weight and burn time on your site and on the lables. The prices are on the high side but still within the usual range for hand-poured candles. I think putting the weight on the lables will help most people buy by weight the burn time is extra info also the weight on your sight will give customers more of an idea of the size. Since your selling gels I would also keep the lables on the lids so you can see how pretty they are.Hope this helps and Good luck.
